Ryan Ellis at Daytona this weekend...

I am giving some serious consideration to attending, still working out the details, but it looks like I might have a place to stay down there which would make the drive worth while. Erik Johnson

Bolt pattern for LS3 to adpter

What gearbox are you trying to adapt to the the LS engine?

    Ken's SLC build thread

I am not sure if this is going to be an issue with the Ricardo gearbox or not, but I would recommend that you put some sort of heat shielding between the exhaust and the gearbox, or make sure to cool the oil some how. The gearbox is going to act like a giant 220 lb heat sink, and that could...

    RCR Porsche 917

You bend it you mend it. Nothing cheap on a 917 especially a engine that is not replaceable.

    What transaxle

You're too kind Jack. Thank you. Cliff I would agree with you, and the G50.52 would not be the ideal gearbox in my opinion, however there are times when you can find one of these at a pretty decent price. Given the weight that this car is likely to not have, it may be up to the task, if...

    RCR's Next car should be.....

Well give the astronomical price that these cars now bring in the market, how about building one of these?

    What transaxle

If you have the space available you might want to consider the G96.50, G96.88, G96.96 or G97 versions as these have been quite good with high HP and Torque applications. They are a bit pricey but I have a feeling that you are going to run into this regardless of your choice due to the Torque...

    What transaxle

The Hewland VGC is a gearbox that is no longer made. Parts for now are still available, but I would not expect that to last for too much longer either. Just FYI. Erik

    G50 flywheel and clutch options

Hey there Tim, Tilton makes several different concentric slave sizes and throws, perhaps you did not get the correct one for your application? I have had good success with this system in the past, but it was quite pricey. Quartermaster makes a pretty good one too, for quite a bit less money...

    Best idea. Ever.

A vintage Porsche 917 with an American engine??? To each their own I guess.

    Race tracks near Austin Texas

Don't you guys have the new F1 track there now? I would think that they would be opening that up to some events here in the near future, right? Erik

RCR Ferrari P-4 has entered the building

That process is absolutely one of the coolest things I have seen anyone do in a long time. I did not even know that it was possible to do something like that. Very cool. Erik

Dean's SLC at Run and Gun

That is great news Dean, I am always happy to hear how the finished products turn out. Could you send me some pics when you have time? We would like to put up a customer page on the website at some point with all of our customers finished products. Thanks, Erik Johnson

Dean's SLC at Run and Gun

Hey there Dean, You might want to take a look at the cable location for your gearbox cables, it sounds like they might be a bit too close to things that are generating a substantial amount of heat and the inner sheath might be melting to the cable and jamming them up once they cool off. I...

Billet diff housing in the making

Not to pick on this, but changing the side that the R&P is on does the exact same thing. This does not hurt the ring and pinion so long as the bellhousing is strong enough to counter any deflection, which it would have been with the addition of a billet side plate. Just FYI. Erik

Billet diff housing in the making

Just wondering why you did not just reverse rotate your engine instead? This would be a bit easier and perhaps less expensive, but I do really like what you have there. How many hours did it take to get to that point on the mill? Erik

Driver lineup for the Charge of the Headlight Brigade

Good luck this weekend Ryan. I am looking forward to watching you all kick some out there. Wish I could be there in person. What is the best way to follow you over the weekend? Erik Johnson
