My RCR "DPE-962X" 8500 RPM -1500HP Engine Build *lots of pics*

Bro, I love building specialty motors. It's no nightmare believe me. I have been doing it my whole life. There is great satisfaction doing all the math then coming up with the right combination of parts on your own to build a reliable mega HP bullet proof motor that runs like a Swiss watch...

My RCR "DPE-962X" 8500 RPM -1500HP Engine Build *lots of pics*

Dusty, Cant wait to see yours finished .... Got a lot on the table right now to start this project. Don't want it sitting around collecting dust. It will happen though. Besides my Corvette shop ,I own a restaurant and show people and potential customers pictures of the SL-C and the...

Ken, That's sweet work bro. Love the attention to detail !! update: Guys, I was planning to head out to Fran's shop in Feb and then the Midwest blizzard hit us. That set me back as I have some business to tend to that will finance this 962X project. I will keep ya updated...

    RCR's new car..962

Jim, + 1 on the Dauer The body style of the Dauer 962 is timeless even though its over 20 years old. I agree with Fran, the cost to make a kit to replicate the Dauer's body/chassis/drivetrane exactly would cost a lot of money. There are so many little subtle body details you would have to...

My RCR "DPE-962X" 8500 RPM -1500HP Engine Build *lots of pics*

Hey Brian, I will be machining the block in a few weeks or so. I'll get some more pics posted soon. My main focus right trying to allocate time to go visit Fran over at RCR sometime this month and get the ball rolling. It's so hard for me to get away from my responsibilities here in Chicago...

My RCR "DPE-962X" 8500 RPM -1500HP Engine Build *lots of pics*

Dave, Here's a bad ass 4 rotor for ya !!! Add a couple turbos like Brian said and you have a little monster. Or leave it N/A so Alex won't think you're cheating .... I had to throw that one in Alex .. GTP: 1992 Mazda RX-792P Engine Warmup on Vimeo

My RCR "DPE-962X" 8500 RPM -1500HP Engine Build *lots of pics*

Dusty ,that would be a sin .... :bigcry: I call them cars mailbox racers. The only time they want to race is when you are at a dead stop because they have four wheel drive. Then when you finally get traction and are ready to smoke past by them ( next mailbox ) , they let off the gas with...

My RCR "DPE-962X" 8500 RPM -1500HP Engine Build *lots of pics*

About 2.9 gallons / minute @ 1800hp Assuming throttle is wide open, you would run out of gas in 9.3 minutes with a 27 gal tank burning roughly $ 21.77 a minute in race fuel. :laugh2:

My RCR "DPE-962X" 8500 RPM -1500HP Engine Build *lots of pics*

Dave, I did consider E85 for the cooler intake charge alone because of the turbos. I have a gas station 5 minutes away though that sells Sunoco 114 from California in the Summer months. The owner is a racer himself so I know it's fresh fuel. I do have some of my friends use E85 in their LSX...

My RCR "DPE-962X" 8500 RPM -1500HP Engine Build *lots of pics*

Ken, thanks for the fixed link ... Dave, This ain't no Triangle either. :D I took droop into consideration when looking at this other lift kit and it lifts up to 5", not 5" or down. The cylinder is about an inch thick. If it was a real 962 suspension with only a couple inches of...

My RCR "DPE-962X" 8500 RPM -1500HP Engine Build *lots of pics*

Fran, I remember you telling me about that kit a while back. I'll go with that one since you already have it street tested and fitted on basically the same suspension setup that will be going in the 962. BTW, that link you posted to it doesn't work. Thanks Rob, Mike, RM. I glad to share...

My RCR "DPE-962X" 8500 RPM -1500HP Engine Build *lots of pics*

Before I found RCR I was going to build a REALLY fast GTM. I had a lot of body mods I was going to do to it as well. Here are some pics of my modified version. I widened and lengthened the rear of the car and increased the size of the openings on the sides for more cooling capacity. I left the...

My RCR "DPE-962X" 8500 RPM -1500HP Engine Build *lots of pics*

John, The Tec3R will do the job just fine for 3k. It's the same unit used in the 1800hp Mosler. I have spoken to tuners that use this system and they love it for tuning high HP cars. The savings from going Motec will go towards the 16k Mendeola trans-axle.
