    Door handles

I think the handle that pops through the door top is available in some form through a GT vendor. I made all of my own parts for the doors though.

    Door handles

The inner handle bolts on the mechanism directly and the outer one has a cable that does the pulling. The 2 springs return those inner/outer handles respectively

RCR GT40 Windshield Seal Rubber Recommendation

I couldn't get the space to put the SPF or any other gasketing around my windshield. It was too tight on the sides to make it work. I have several different types if you need pictures. I can sell you the SPF material if you want to try it.

    RCR40 Dashboard Fitment

The vertical sections of the dash that mount to the chassis have to sit flat and clear the doors when they close. To a certain degree they set the height of the dash that faces the passengers .

    RCR40 Dashboard Fitment

Place your dash into the chassis and drop the spider over. It might be that the dash demister area sits too high for the spider placement. I had to build up the inner floor of the demister vent area and sand down the interface to the chassis.

RCR E Brake for 15 in wheels

Yup, they are not the correct size for the 15". I built a fixture, cut, and rewelded mine. I don't think RCR had another option when I did it.

    Widebody RCR40

Last year we moved so progress was slowed. Before it got cold I managed to shoot the underside of the front and rear clamshells. The black is SPI epoxy and the wheel wells have some raptor liner to prevent the rock damage I was pushing through the winter unable to finish any more paint so I...

    Sean's RCR GT40 build

I couldn’t get a gap like that to work on mine. Maybe have the door sweep in high and have the striker drag it down into position.

    Widebody RCR40

I have the original mold that the part was pulled from but I made some other changes after. I intend to pull a new mold from the current part at some point. That wasn't the easiest part to make. Between all the junk on the engine front and my seats tucking really close to the water pump it...

    Widebody RCR40

And the march goes on. Last weekend I had a goal of final testing the electrical system, bleeding the brakes and clutch, adding coolant, and putting the wheels on for a photo op. I got as far as the rear wheels when I noticed the parking brake wouldn't clear the inside barrel of the rim. I...

    Widebody RCR40

Finishing the doors and interior: The door boxes turned into a much larger project than anticipated. The gelcoat was terrible. Tons of thin area air pockets that popped when I ran my finger over them and so many cracks from being pried from the mold. Didn't realize how much bodywork time it...

    Widebody RCR40

The road has been rough but I'm still pushing on with this car. Sometimes I think I let this project get out of hand. Perhaps its too easy to talk yourself into refining the nuanced details. I wanted to use this project to expand my capabilities in paint, molding, wiring, and fabrication...
