    Louis' RCR MKII Build

Hi All, Someone had posted a video of Fran explaining the order of the body going onto the chassis. Does anyone remember that thread? Thanks! Louis

Pat’s RCR 40 build in NY

Hello Ian, How much front-to-back angle can you have on the half-shafts? I have the same basic drive train as Pat but with a Kennedy Bellhousing. For my half-shafts to be nearly 90 degrees between the gearbox and wheel hub I would have a bulge into the cockpit with the engine set more...

    ZF bellhousing and flywheel/clutch options

I will definitely be doing that Randy. It will help but the drive train will still be cocked a little to the left after trimming. RCR no longer sells that clearance plate so I will make my own unless someone has one to sell. I remember seeing what others have done but I'm not being specific...

    ZF bellhousing and flywheel/clutch options

Thank you Randy! I feel silly for not checking the manual.

    ZF bellhousing and flywheel/clutch options

I have the drive train assembled and testing fitment in the chassis. With the front of the engine centered the alternator (CVF) hits the upper link tower and the bellhousing starter bulge hits the chassis so the gearbox isn't centered in the chassis. The half-shafts will be nearly straight-on...

    ZF bellhousing and flywheel/clutch options

Hello Everyone! My build will be using 351W stroked to 427 with a ZF transaxle that Ron McCall is rebuilding. The chassis is RCR. I'm looking at both Quicktime and Kennedy Eng. for the bellhousing. The car is being setup for 90% street and some track time. Kennedy Eng. is asking if I will...

Engine Builders for RCR GT40 Chassis

Hi All, With Craft Performance no longer available and Prestige Motorsports engines requiring the CVF pulleys to fit in the RCR chassis and Roush not responding to phone calls. What engine builders are still out there? Appreciate it! Louis

    RCR GT-40 Dashboard

Hi Rod! Attached are a few pictures. The first pic shows the fabricated lip on the spider and the fabricated dash extension. That dash extension slips into the lip and supports the front of the dash. On the 3rd picture you see an extension on the side of the dash. I will make a piece to fit...

    RCR GT-40 Dashboard

Hi Jim! Has anyone sent you pictures or explanations? I have the roll cage as well and cut my dash to be removed with the roll cage in place. I also fiberglassed a lip on the spider and glassed an extension on the dash that slips in the lip. This way the front of the dash is supported. I...

    Louis' RCR MKII Build

Hi All! It's been a few years but I'm making slow progress on the MKII. I do have a question about the Center Scoop on the rear deck. Two of the attached pictures show the the scoop of the original P1015 at the Carroll Shelby Museum and mine labeled LW1015. Does anyone know why the scoop...

Hi All, This attached picture of the original dash in the P1015 has a switch between the toggle switches. Does anyone know what this switch does? Thank you! Louis RCR GT40 MKII

Hi Morten! Good to hear from you. The RCR specs for caster are 5-8 degrees. Mine was set to 6deg. The solution will come. Louis

    Louis' RCR MKII Build

Advice from Bill at RCR was to double-check my suspension alignment before cutting anymore on the rocker panels. Always wanted to make aluminum spacers to replace the shim washers anyway so I'm doing that. Before I took the suspension back down the wheelbase = 94.5" Close to 95 specified by...

    Louis' RCR MKII Build

Hi Adam, If I remember correctly: End of right rear rocker to chassis: ~45mm or more End of left rear rocker to chassis: ~47mm (honestly can't remember) From your thread they should be 52 - 54 mm. So the rockers on my car need to move back toward the rear tire.. Thanks! Louis
