Thanks for the reply! Can you please share info/images of how the FR hooks are mounted to the chassis? Also have you planned out how the RR hooks will mount to the chassis? Transportation tie-down points are also my main goal here, forgot to mention that originally.

Not any pictures really for this update as just doing some boring stuff planning out how to wire up this car.... My objective is to "hard mount' all electrical devices prior to crimping or soldering a single harness. For example the headlight and taillights and coil packs should be bolted/taped...

final images of the tip positioning for the time being: It took some tweaking to get the tips to be about centered and out of the way of the rear clamshell so it may open and close. Next up is tackling the wiring and thus mounting all the lights and other devices. Recently placed an...

Okay so the first step was to weld in the mufflers, v-bands, and tips. duct tape = TIG welds right? with the final parts welded in, it was time to finish up the mount system to securely hold the tips down. Above you can see the rough aluminum piece I welded up. Below as well. on both...

I plan to fiberglass in some aluminum tabs to the clamshell to accept bolts, and 3D print some brackets to securely hold the headlight. TBD exactly what shape they become though... that's on the to do list lol.

I am talking with jet hot, might be a bit pricey though.... I really wish powder coating has improved further... Also we may just wrap them in header wrap for now to make sure they don't need adjusted after startup/break in tbh.

FEAST YOUR EYES ON THE FINIEST TIG WELDING TO EVER BE COMPLTETED IN THE NATION!!! I'll weld your exhaust as well for the measly sum of $1,000,000 a minute, (travel time is charged still). I just need to find time between the many trips I promised to SpaceX this year already to put my TIG welds...

Thanks! Do you have a header mockup kit of some sort? They are essential I think.

It was difficult but fun/worth it. I suggest it! Flanges to bolt to the block were $80, and about $1100 on collectors, tubing, bullet mufflers and so on. I'd suggest starting by pricing out what you can get local. It took time to confirm a decent source that had free shipping and returns...

Well we finally made some progress on the exhaust. One set back was we couldn't easily source 2" or 3" CLR mandrel bends in stainless tubing. We have a Jegs in Columbus that offers free shipping but we were frustrated that they don't really offer 2" or 3" CLR mandrel bends in stainless tubing...

The next project on the car is to try and tackle the exhaust... my 3d printed parts are working great to mockup a pipe layout... but it sure isn't easy to arrange the exhaust in a manner that obeys the cross over idea I discussed in this thread a while ago. It seems the middle two cylinders from...

Well we seem to finally about be done with setting up air ducts to feed cool outside air through a fan and vents in the dash. The idea is to supply air to two "normal" vents mounted in the dash and the defroster vent for the windshield. Right now there is no way to select a defrost mode vs a...

Ok I see your point now, thanks for explaining. I will think about this and check for ways fuel can leak out of the surge tank. Thanks!

Looks good! I agree water traps are tricky. I am thinking about how to handle that now. I want the trap(s) to be easily accessible to be drained if needed. I may put traps under the dash in the interior of the car just before little air filter mounts, tbd on that though.

So my dad and I decided the 3d prints will work great and made the move to fiberglass/glue them in. I'm happy with how the ducts turned out I think they should work well. We can't imagine the effort involved in making these ducts without a 3D printer! I need to re-design and re-print one...

I decided to work on the interior air system a bit and add ducting to supply cool outside air from the three main exterior NACA ducts on the front clip. The method I am trying out is using 3d prints to fiberglass onto the front clip. Eventually I will 3d print ducting for inside the cabin too...

Hey everyone! sorry for disappearing for awhile. About two months ago I had a nasty accident on a dirtbike and I've been busy trying to get back on my feet. Last week I worked on the gt40 though. I'm trying to perfect the body gaps and I'm using a 1/8" shim I made. Below is a quick photo of what...

This picture better shows the black cover that I removed from both units. The wire grommet for the wires to passthrough easily popped out as well. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09QYHY376?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1
