    Please Stop My Confusion

Bill, the debate that I was avoiding is exactly what you said. There are two types of customers for the cars discussed. Generally we view them as the Corvette people - people that want nothing to do with the time, effort and expense of a DIY supercar, plus they want to drive it off the lot...

    Please Stop My Confusion

Agreed. IMO this is a barrier to anyone who wants to build a mid-engine car or a manufacturer who wants to sell them. A transaxle is a significant percentage of the build cost, and can regularly cost more than the engine itself depending on type. Best guess is that $15k is a lower mid-range...

    Please Stop My Confusion

The issue with the SL-C is that the quality can be sometimes unpredictable, but that's the exception, not the rule. Some people have gotten bad welds. The body can be very thin in some places. It can be difficult to get parts included in the kit, many are waiting years for steering racks and...

    CNC Brake Line Routing

I'd consider that if you ever had to pull the tank you'd have to deal with the lines and bleed the brakes as well. That's a lot of potential extra work if something went wrong with the tank or any pump in it.

    CV-style shifter linkage?

Something I'm not entirely unfamiliar with, I did aircraft work for a while so push-pull and torque tubes aren't that big of a deal to me, and I was interested in something like that for the car if it was available. I'm not interested in scratch designing a setup with bell cranks and all that...

    CV-style shifter linkage?

Talking to a car aficionado I work with and somehow the SL-C shifter cable setup came up, and I'd mentioned issues with heat damaging the cables. He said something to the effect of using a solid push-pull rod style linkage, except the one he was mentioned used CV-style (or similar) joints for...

Newbie with questions and looking for guidance

Search the foum here to see what people have done with the dash. I don't have measurements for the binnacles on the dash, but there are several people who have put various sized LCD displays in the car, from LCD Dash Systems to double DIN stereos and other digital dashboard displays. Dash...

    Superlite SLC Build Questions

Everything Joel said is spot on. I'd also suggest really digging through the parts lists and decide what you will DIY (like buying your own seats instead of RCRs) and save yourself buying parts you won't need and having them laying around. $40k is plenty of $ for just an engine, nothing beats...

    RCR’s New In-house Steering Rack

Ok. Ordered in early ‘22, so I guess I’m in the queue. Tangentially, I literally just checked my mail and got a message from Bill that they’re sending the parking brake kit, but apparently it’s a new style? Bill said they need to make some additional parts to complete it. I’d originally chosen...

    RCR’s New In-house Steering Rack

Anybody know when these are being shipped? Still waiting for steering among other things.

Throwout bearing PN# for graz/LS setup

Search function is inop on the site for me, anyone else? I hate to ask something that’s probably in a search. Anyway, does the standard gallardo/audi v8/10 throwout bearing work for the RCR LS/graz setup? PN ends in 671M?

    Graziano Gearing and Drop Gears

I wrote an entire response about how it's not really an overdrive...then I remembered the old-school second shifter that did pretty much did the same thing and deleted it. Never worked on one and probably only ever been in pickup that had it, did that come off the engine or the tailshaft output?

    Graziano Gearing and Drop Gears

A drop gear is a replacement gear set to change the ratio of the Graziano, which is geared for a higher revving V8 or -10, to allow lower revving US V8s to run at reasonable RPMs, particularly at cruise. IOW - if the V10 Graz ran 70mph at 3200 RPM it would be undesirable to use the same ratio...

    Dusty's SLC Build

A couple builders here have shared videos of starting their cars while in the air, I think all of them I remember watching had the wheels turning while in neutral with the Graz transaxle.

Here’s the one I happened to see. Didn’t see the owner to ask about it.

    Lime Rock Historic Festival?

Were you at the Bear Mountain Cruise a few weeks back? Think I saw your car, can’t be too many yellow GT’s around.

    Exhaust tone - Celeritech

Ian, I've done a ton of listening to different exhaust configs and different component makers. 180 equal length headers with an X-pipe is good, it smooths out the sound but it still has that V8 rumble. The 8-4-1 IMO gives the best tone with the low V8 sound at idle and accentuating the revs...

    SLC Superlite Completed

Beautiful car. Do you have a build thread? I did a quick look and didn't find one.
