    Thanks! I was looking at the diagrams for the original GT40 alternator bracket and have been considering fabbing my own if i can’t get a hold of one. I picked up some aluminum plate the other day in case!! I’ll go through that thread and see what other tips I can gather. Pat

    Got my Randy’s confused! I sent him a message. Still trying to get a low alternator bracket which will decide if I need anything. Right now I’m just buying parts when what I really need is that alternator bracket but I can’t get a hold of one.

    Finally got a hold of them. It was my fault. I needed to omit the 0 from their phone number when calling overseas!!! Spoke with him and he doesnt think it would work on a 302 but told him that others have used it here and that the 289 was/is the same block as a 302. Hopefully I’ll get it...

    I’ve been hunting down a Gelscoe alternator bracket but they seemed to have closed and re-opened as GM Automotive Engineering LTD but when I contacted them there is no answer and phone seems disconnected. Does anyone have one for sale or knows any company that makes these brackets?

    I know this is an old thread but I’ve tried calling and emailing GM Automotive and the main line is no longer in service, no email answers and no cell phone replies. Does anyone know if there is another company selling Gelscoe gt40 parts??

    The worst part is they knew it was for an RCR gt40 and after calling them they still said it’s the shortest damper I could put on it. It just confuses me more.

    When I spoke to prestige today they stated the balancer I have now lines up for a shorty water pump. In fact they advised going with the shorty water pump over an electric water pump. If that’s true then the Glescoe bracket should line up perfectly???

    Thanks Brian, I appreciate the help. From research I’ve been doing tonight it seems the Frod 302 balancer came in three different lengths - 3”, 3.35” and 4”. 3 bolt pulley has the 3” balancer, 4 bolt pulley has the 4” balancer and the 3.35” balancer uses a 3/4 bolt pattern. It looks like...

    Lee did you run a short water pump or electrical/remote? Trying to figure out which CVF system you went with.

    I spoke to Prestige and they told me this is the shortest balancer they use. They said with a short water pump it would just be enough for the pulleys. I told them I’m running an electric water pump to gain clearance and need it closer but they said thats as close as it gets. It’s an...
