    Harrison's Garage's RCR 40 Build

This post is a bit late but I've been busy disassembling the car in preparation to install the engine mounts as soon as the trans arrives - still hoping for an eta from RCR on that soon. For all those interested, I've posted a video of the car's delivery below.

    Harrison's Garage's RCR 40 Build

Appreciate the input! My main concern for wanting the lift as high as possible isn't tied to working underneath it. As you stated, the car seems like it will require very little work to be done from directly underneath. My main objective with the lift is to get it as high and out of the way...

    Harrison's Garage's RCR 40 Build

I did a high lift garage door as well but didn't have it go all the way to my ceiling because I have a table saw outfeed table stored snug up against my ceiling that my garage door needed to clear. My issue isn't currently the garage door but rather the ceiling height. In order to get the lift...

    Harrison's Garage's RCR 40 Build

Sorry for the delay - I have been out of town for the last week. I did pay RCR for the body fit. Without going into much detail I would say it definitely isn't worth doing. They mounted the body pieces but as you noted, nothing lines up. The doors are hung, but there is a tremendous amount...

    Harrison's Garage's RCR 40 Build

After a long 16 month wait the car has arrived! I was able to get it unloaded and onto the lift yesterday and lower it a few inches for better storage nearer to the ceiling. I plan to begin removal of the front and rear clam tonight and begin taking the suspension components off in the coming...

    Harrison's Garage's RCR 40 Build

Another Update from Bill at RCR today - they're about to ship (minus the trans and AC components)! But everything else is ready. More than enough for me to get started at least. Latest photos of the body on the car attached.

    Harrison's Garage's RCR 40 Build

Just in from RCR this morning - the tires are mounted and bolted to the rolling chassis in preparation for them doing the body fit. The Rear clam also has the Gulf +4" flares mounted as pictured below.

    Harrison's Garage's RCR 40 Build

Thought I'd provide an update. I ordered the kit almost 15 months ago and am still waiting on it. RCR was delayed quite a bit in finding a new supplier for the fiberglass body as well as with a couple of production runs for movie vehicles. Latest for my kit is that it is done pending the body...

    Kiwis RCR40 Build

I too have the same concern with the gearing though I won't know how much of a problem this will be when driving until I actually get to drive it (Just heard from RCR yesterday that my kit will be shipping out next week!). If the car flies through the gears too quickly, I'm guessing my options...

    Harrison's Garage's RCR 40 Build

Yes indeed. That’s what this will be as soon as the car arrives. My very first post on page 1 has all the specs for the build.

    Harrison's Garage's RCR 40 Build

That’s a beautiful set up. I do love that indigo blue. If I go that route it would be with a white racing stripe down the middle. I’m currently still awaiting delivery of my kit. I ordered it in August of ‘23 and am still waiting for it. I was last told end of this month but I’m not holding out...

    Harrison's Garage's RCR 40 Build

I've gotten the 4 post lift completed (bolted down). Addressing concerns previously raised, I haven't yet had the need to reinforce the bottom plates on the lift with furring blocks or concrete. I should be hearing from RCR any day now on when they will be shipping the completed kit. Once I...

    Harrison's Garage's RCR 40 Build

Hi Paul, Thanks for the valued input. I have to say I thought I looked into all possible areas of failure (my main concern was finding an epoxy that was rated for 3.25" deep holes for a 3/4" threaded rod. Red Head CP6+ fit the bill and is rated for way way more than the lift will ever see...

    Harrison's Garage's RCR 40 Build

Now that my engine is unpacked and tucked away pending the front end from RCR (along with the rest of the car). I've taken the time to get the rest of my garage ready to go. I've decided on a 4 post lift to assist in building and storing the car. When I'm not working on it, the kit will live...

    Harrison's Garage's RCR 40 Build

Big update - the engine came in from Prestige last week and looks every bit as great as I'd hoped. Busy weeks at work meant I've only gotten around to posting these photos now. I very much enjoyed the spooky touch to the shipping box as well. I have an air cleaner on order from Holley and...

    Harrison's Garage's RCR 40 Build

Today was exciting! I received the dyno photo and video from Prestige. The link to the dyno pull is here. Needless to say I'm quite pleased with how things turned out :). The motor produced 503.6hp at 6,500 rpm and 450 lb-ft of torque at 4,700 rpm. These numbers should put the car right...
