    Grimoire.E #10: Superlite GT-R Build

Need to get more pics of spacers but in the meantime...a random note on suspension. Walking around the shop I kept finding these tiny metal cylinders and was wondering what they were. Figured they might be from some sort of thrust bearing for the suspension and sure enough there's one in the...

I'll have to do that with those bolts. The ones the car came with were too short. I got the stack down to only a spacer and washer but its still a PITA so this will be nice. I was doing something similar with a punch but it didn't work as smoothly.

Back to basics: I read in the manual that one should carefully track all spacers/bolts while disassembling the I found myself in a perpetual state of surprise/ annoyance and decided to heck with that and chucked them in the spare parts bin. The spacers were all over the place-some brackets had...

The Centerlock Dilemma: By now I realized I had an issue. The wheels needed to Come off but the centerlocks were torqued on (or way tighter than they probably shouldve been for delivery and transport). The issue was there were no brakes to hold the car in place while we wrenched them off. We...

    Grimoire.E #10: Superlite GT-R Build

After messing around with the seats a little and staring at the car for a few weeks we decided to strip it down to the bare chassis and build up from scratch. We made some wooden frames to hold the parts and pushed them onto our lift for safe keeping...

    Grimoire.E #10: Superlite GT-R Build

Been busy moving but in the past few months made some excruciatingly slow progress. We weren't a huge fan of the carbon seats that came with the car so we got some recaro podiums. They were backordered for like a year but it turns out as long as you don't care that the fia stickers are on the...

Oh man that's brutal. I got a rack thankfully but there are a ton of backordered parts I'm missing, I plan to just buy or fab aftermarket ones rather than waiting for this reason, but a steering rack is hard to fab.... hopefully fran will be shipping yours like he said in the other thread...

glad to hear I'm not alone and that sounds much better. My flanges don't even bolt flush to the uprights haha. One side of the flange is about a cm off... Gonna be lots of finessing on all parts of this build haha

More photos. Have not worked on the car yet as we’ve been reorganizing the shop to clear some more space for it and get a 3 car lift in place. Currently the rear clamshell is off and I’m printing some mounts to screw onto a wood frame so the body can sit on it properly and similar to how it sat...

More photos Overhead photo of the car. The wheel wheel jacks have been very helpful for moving around the car in the shop. After clearing out the interior. The inside is huge! Despite the space though, with the seat jammed up against the tunnel the seat is still not centered on the steering...

    Grimoire.E #10: Superlite GT-R Build

I’ve had a bit to look around the car more and the chassis looks fantastic. The billet pieces are beautiful and the welds look nice. The fiberglass… not so much. It’s covered in scratches and gouges, probably from sitting in the shop for so long. There’s a large paint bubble in the headlight...

V12 Superlite GT-R Build: I've waited 2 years. How much longer from order to delivery?

I'm a bit late on this but Fran and Vicki were able to reach out last week and arrange final details with us which I appreciate :) Excited to finally get this thing going! For better or worse a lot of other seriously delayed projects are arriving this year as well so it will be hectic but I'll...

V12 Superlite GT-R Build: I've waited 2 years. How much longer from order to delivery?

Hey Ken, good point about getting ahead on some of that. I've been sourcing engine parts, aftermarket ecu etc for the build for a while now since it's fairly obscure. The first year i rewired an entire car as practice, since I need to build my own harness for this engine due to its obscurity...
