Why Did the Ford GT40 Change Racing Forever?

AI comes to the GT40 - Marcus is right . Once watched and seen, you can't unsee it or hear it. ".. reached speeds in excess of two hundred and ten ...mu per huh... [MPH]. "...Steve McQueen owned a mu kuh eye..." [Mark One]. I'm lost for words on the images.

    Tour Auto 2025

If I may add this in to compliment your video. For me it shows what these cars are, over and above seeing and driving them on a race circuit. Absolute animals, steam engines (locomotives) of the road.

Quaife QBE62G - Clutch Release Arm Bearings Identification Help

Thanks Mark, Mick kindly gave me the correct spec bearing which incidentally was different from the one Quaife gave me and my brilliant guys got the car back together within one hour of going down to the Members Meeting 82 - to see an Epic Gurney Cup race even if the GT40’s were soundly beaten...

SGT40 - Driveshaft Sensor Help Requested

Thanks everyone for the conclusive collective response. The car is back together and had a shake down this afternoon. From the construction of the bracket and washer marks it's looking like it has always been like that - 50mm from the socket cap screws and not 1mm  It'll need a new bracket...

SGT40 - Driveshaft Sensor Help Requested

Reassembly of car following Quaife gearbox swap. The car has fuel injection. There's a bracket holding a sensor that looks like it was fitted to the gearbox (r/h side) offside receiving info from the driveshaft. But, it doesn't seem clear as to how it was previously fitted. It's a long shot...

Clutch Spec and Internal Slave Cylinder info help needed for Southern GT40 - Quaife Gearbox

Thanks for looking into this for me. The slave cylinder on mine is external and not internal, as I originally said. The existing slave cylinder is now going to be reused. The gearbox is out and the new Quaife QBE62G is about to go in. Mick helped us out with the parts identification as per when...

    QBE62G Transaxle

I bought direct from Quaife - December 2024 £10,224.50p is the UK list price excluding tax. £12,269.40p including vat. The price didn't include the Quaife Bellhousing. That was the price collected - no pallet delivery.

Thoughts on a side mirror alternative

Plan a lane change well ahead, watching everything in your mirrors. They'll more often than not be someone sitting in your blindspot videoing or taking photos. Actually makes lane changes difficult and stressful. Others come storming up in your rear view mirrors; you expect them to sweep by but...

    Noise friendly GT40 circuits UK.

Funny really, My cousin lives in a "Grand Designs" house 200 metres from the entrance; very close. And my uncle and auntie in their 90's live on the other side of the track, in what was originally a village green field boundary: now engulfed in massive new build estate. It's hardly a circuit set...

    Noise friendly GT40 circuits UK.

Marcus, here's what's going to be a rare UK event. It's run for TVR's but other cars can apply, subject to approval. This is the only real world one I could find. Here's the link. https://tvrcc.ecwid.com/UNSILENCED-Donington-Park-Track-Day-Thursday-17th-July-2025-Book-From-%C2%A3199-p719569237

Southern GT40 - Track Day Decibel Rating

Thanks for your input, Jean. It's Spa I'm scheduled for again and the limit is 103 dB on that day. I'll be looking at add on devices, for sure. It looks like it's 107 dB static 103 dB dynamic - so that's a bit better to plan for.

Southern GT40 - Track Day Decibel Rating

Thanks Glenn, They will be the oval ones? Are they the ones you used during your time? Did you have any other setup that worked within limits?

Just an afterthought. Snetterton, more or less in the middle of nowhere (UK wise that is :)), might be worth looking at. On their website it shows noise band levels; a black level which I think is up to 118db. I could only see a short piece of calendar and not the whole coming year. An email...

Clutch Spec and Internal Slave Cylinder info help needed for Southern GT40 - Quaife Gearbox

Yes, external has advantages. The guys doing it for me don't want to stall in the middle of the job with a faulty/leaking internal slave.
