Nice numbers !

I am shooting for something like this with the rebuild of my old engine as a 331, AFR 165's, 10.5:1, etc. I hope it turns out as well as yours did.

Can I ask a novice question (Ok, several)? I want to see if I understand - the block is a little over bore (4.125 vs 4.00) with a shorter stroke (2.87 vs 3.00). So I am assuming: similar displacement, but the shorter stroke helps with reciprocating forces and rod angle..? What are the real world benefits? Will it inherently rev faster; will it be easier to handle higher revs? In other words, what are the benefits over a 302?

Also, why the aluminum block but iron heads? Stronger?

Obviously this works - that is impressive output for displacement.

Restricted rules, must have original stroke and iron heads with stock iron rockers!!!
