I've just finished my Cobra and have installed a 1971 Ford 302 which was totally rebuilt with a +30 rebore, reground crank, Main bearing stud kit, New oil pump with hardened SVO oil pump shaft, polished and ported heads and a performer cam. The whole assembly was balanced before being put together. I've only covered 280 miles with the engine and even though it's still running in, it's very powerful and very smooth
Unfortunatly (for me) I've got the bug and am already building a more powerful (stroker) engine.
If you're interested, you can hear it running (and driving) before you make any decisions. I have all the bills for all the parts including the re-bore and balance. It is a beautiful engine and I am open to reasonable offers. I don't really want to sell the engine before my new one is ready if I can help it.
