GT40 Build Status

Looking for an update on my RCR GT 40 but I never get a return phone call. Does anyone know how to contact them? I believe I am about 1 year into the process with RCR.

Hi: Not uncommon, see similar contributions, such as,

As for parts or information, sending an email has worked for me, usually without much delay. Greetings

For sure RCR is just as interested in shipping your car as you are, if not more so. The cars take up valuable space and tie up funds that could be used for something else. My understanding is they are incredibly busy with many cars in the almost ready to ship state and are probably prioritizing working on the cars over responding to status inquiries. The shipping probably occurs in waves. The waves are likely caused by supply chain issues that hold up multiple cars. It also matters what’s included in your car, such as flares which have to go out to a body shop for fitting. Hope this helps. For me, it was definitely worth the wait.

Appreciate the information. I was going to have the police do a wellness check LOL. A text or phone call from them would be helpful. BTW RCR, a private message here would still be nice! I don't bite!
Hi Jack (sorry, I had to! Just don't say that when flying...), I am about 15 mins. away from RCR, I was Fire Marshal for the city of Roseville next to Fraser. Even though I am waiting for my SPF 40 (in production) I have been thinking of going there for a visit just to see their facility. Not sure how receptive they will be to having me visit, but if they are at all friendly I'd be glad to ask them about your 40 and if they don't mind, I could take some pics of your car for you. PM me with your full name and the date you ordered your car and I'll see what I can do if interested.

Just contact Vicki to make arrangements for a visit.

I am right there with ya.I put my order in 04/06/2023.As of a couple weeks ago they were welding the cockpit and it was going into que sometime after that to be assembled.Im sure Fran is on top of it but as all the vendors are crap now and nobody wants to work over 40 hrs a week he probably cant get what he needs to complete the cars so im being patient because I know how he feels.Im a 62 year old mechanical contractor and I have never saw it so bad with the labor pool.I just cut all my help loose because with their lunch breaks ,smoke breaks and being on the phone all the time I just dont have the patience anymore.

Hi Dave. Thank you for the kind offer. My GT40 arrived yesterday. It took about 17 months. Now the work begins!

I sense a common theme here, unfortunately I think I get the chicken dinner. I ordered my aluminum bodied DType three years and seven months ago. Being a new venture for Fran (typical build being Fiberglass) there have been some learning curve hiccups along the way. Some of the delays unforeseen and understandable but the failure of communication is the most frustrating issue to be honest. Flying there from Tucson AZ ( which I have done on a couple occasions) seems inefficient to simply get a progress report. My name is JD Stuart, the car is a D Type jag, my email is [email protected]. Feel free to offer comments and or advice directly to email.

Thanks for the reply Randy. As I mentioned I have been there twice and each time a pleasure to interact with Fran the first time and Steve ( who is responsible for the build right now, finishing body and paint). It is a long trip for a short slide however from Tucson and hopefully can be made moot by a brief progress report, picture, or some estimate of finish.
