Looking for suggestions on exhaust headers for Alumninator 5.2XS install

Hi everyone - just recently received my GT-R kit and I'm in the process of planning / beginning the build. I have an Ford Aluminator 5.2XS and Ricardo transaxle, but I'm looking for suggestions or input on the exhaust options that might be the best balance between performance and packaging in the GT-R. Would love to hear from some of the previous builders who've used this engine on what choice they made / why. Thanks

We widened the chassis on our RCR Mk1 GT40 to fit Coyote engine. Applied OE / Mustang motor mounts and designed our own headers using cad based on standard tubing bends/lengths.

Tim, would you happen to have any pictures of your chassis modifications?? Did you just do the panels or the crossmember as well ??

Thanks
Regards Brian

Brian, just the side panels. No modifications are the rear where the trans crossmember is. That said we ended up modifying the chassis 3 times; first for the motor mounts and headers, then for the alternator and A/C compressor and finally for the starter. here are some pictures...

Thanks - that is beautiful work on the RCR40. Luckily on the GT-R there is more room ( width wise at least) but my primary concern is coming out and going around the drive axles ( as well as fitment for the 5.2XS). Would be nice if I can find something pre-made for the header side and then focus on the custom work from that point :)

Unfortunately, you can't simply run Coyote headers upside-down like LS. Perhaps you can buy a set of Coyote shorty aftermarket headers cut off the head flanges and reweld upside-down. What type of motor mounts are you using? My company worked on development of that engine (Voodoo) with Ford for the GT350 and that cross-plane crank has extreme vibration. Do you have any concerns or plans to manage that in the GT-R chassis? Also, I designed that CJ intake...are you planning to use that? I used it in my FFR33 until we came out with the carbon fiber version.

TIm - that's awesome. I'm using BMR motor mounts - but the GT-R isn't a bundle of snakes ( at least I'm not trying for that) and using a flipped CJ intake connected into an airbox from a 2005 Ford GT. Definitely much simpler that what you did with that FFR!
