Audi 016 from salvage yard.

I have been visiting my local Pic A Part salvage yard for over 6 months looking for a Audi 5000. Well this past saturday there was a 1986 5000CS with a 5spd. I couldnt believe it. They get $90 for the trans. Of course I didnt have tools with me so I went back yesterday (2 days later) only to find the Audi had been crushed.... You snooze you loose... There are 2 other V6 Audis with auto trans a 90 and a 100 about 1993.

Does anyone have any experience using the auto trans from the 90 or 100????

Re: Audi 016 from salvage yard.

They should be able to pull it for you, for a fee obviously. In fact, at the yard near me, they don't want you pulling big things like engines and trannies. You tell them what you want and they do it for you. An '85 Audi 5000 016 5spd cost me $175. AND it was from their sister yard a couples of hours away. They drove it up for me and loaded it in my truck. Ask them next time.

Check the web site car-part.com . The Audi 016 transaxles are still fairly easy to find.
