Hi, I need to purchase an in-line brake servo/boost to suit
a dual system. Size and ease of mounting are at a premium.
Can anyone recommend a brand of servo that would suit? I would prefer if they were available in OZ. Yep, I have done a search of the forum. Hope someone can help

Just did a search on Google for
"dual remote booster" and just "remote booster" and got a few hits in the US.

They indicate they are small, but can't find any exact dimenions:

http://www.911brakes.com/bs1011.htm
http://www.ecihotrodbrakes.com/remote_booster.html
These appear to be the same product, other hits I get seem also to be the same or very similiar product.

Not sure how these compare to booster Ian Anderson mentioned in your Warts and all... thread.
http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/. Then select Other Products. Then Scroll down. Called Dual Remote Servo

Also if you find that the store will not ship to Aus, or is expensive to ship to Aus, you can use http://www.shopthestates.com/

Has anyone had any experience with these products, do you think they will do the job?

I am using a part of that system - it is the vacuum pump that is also sold by Stainless Steel Brakes....it is expensive and LOUD. Works OK though.

Pete.
The booster you should look for is called a VH44.
Its an in line unit.

I dont think you can buy them new anymore but go to a Valiant wrecker & get a second hand one.

Take it to any brake outlet & they will get it overhauled for you.

If no one in Q/land call Tilleys wreckers in Orchard Rd Brookvale in Sydney he will have them.
If you need some help email me [email protected]
They are just a block away.

VH44 would be a good option, but it's size makes it too large to fit in I expect.

Ok that was quick

Dimensions off the fax are
Largest Diameter 166
Look at we picture
Length Left hand portion to large diameter 100 (Left hand side)

Length of Drum 122 (Center)

Length of Right hand side 104

The bit on the right goes lower than cylinder base of this to center line of cylinder 105

Pressure characteristics
20kg/cm3 at input is boosted to 60km/cm3 at output
This then is straight line graph e.g. 40kg/cm3 input is 80kg/cm3 output

The unit is Spanish made.

Anyone interested pm me a fax number and I will send the 4 pages through

Sorry cannot find a weight anywhere

Ian, Thanks a lot. From the specs, are the front and rear lines separate? I.E. would it work with Tilton pedals balance bar? I have mailed you my fax number.

No idea I'm afraid. But the write up does say Dual so presumably yes - I would think it would increase each circuit by the same amount so if you have different input pressures you would get different output ones. BUT that is how me as an Accountant thinks!

Anyway I've faxed the specs over

I called SVC to pose the question

Answer is yes it works with a balance bar system

HE advised if on the balance bar you have 25% more pressure on the frontn then after the booster you will still have 25% more pressure on that system.

Hope it answers your question
