Chris, wish I could make it out Wednesday to see it on the track, but we just have too much on at the factory at the moment.

Looks like I will have to wait till next year to see it on the track.

Have a good one mate. :) And keep the updates and photos coming.

The weather forecast says rain all day on practice day and it did ---- except for nearly 15 minutes where we snuck in a couple of maiden laps --on to the track first lap and promptly did a 360° on turn 2 then turn 3 likewise at turn 4 also turn 5 --so much for hard bald tyres in the wet --kind of embarrassing but fun --then discovered instruments not functioning --replace fuse, wriggle some wires and all is good for the mo. Engine not 100% happy, carb not tuned properly yet --couple more tentative laps, call it quits and by this time its fairly bucketing down --so much for the christening.
Although not properly tested, the brakes seem to be very good, clutch and gear changing all good -(once the mind acknowledged the right hand shifter) Ratios seem to be OK --will know more about that when we're able to drive "flat out !"
Driving in reverse is impossible without side mirrors.
At 950 kg total its already heaps quicker than the GT40 :worried:
Get the motor tuned, give the body a polish, apply many stickers, new tyres , tech inspection for log book and we're into it in a couple months when the new season starts

~= 300 Killer Wasps! -- not too bad for an old school carb'd Chebby (LS6)
outa the box .
According to the dyno, thats 405 hp at the wheels in 3rd gear doing 200kph at 6800 rpm with wheel spin --apparently -- I think we need bigger, fattier, stickier rubber already and a younger driver (Aye Russ)
Any way, can't wait till we get some track time -- to see how this thing is going to "handle" ?

So yeah, Fran you were pretty close with 500 hp and you'll be pleased to know that the cockpit tub holds about 200 litres of water -- because of a torrential down pour during the home run from the tuners:furious:

I pulled a sickie from work and did some track time ---- outa the box its pretty well on the money -awesome! That Chevy LS6 and 930 4 speed seems to be a great combo. It points and turns great . Excellent stoppers.
Sounds awesome. Could be a load of fun boys.
Things to do:- (apart from paint or polish) corner weights, side mirror, check alignment of the rear, (over steers a bit) fiddle with shocker settings etc ,grease the front ball joints "properly this time" -- other than that absolutely no issues:D:thumbsup: -- happy as......
The roll bar looks tall --thats to meet the requirement over here and I'm sitting on the floor

Your car looks sick!

The body isn't polished; it looks like it's noisy; it probably burns a little oil; no sound system, etc.

And then it dashes off into hyperspace leaving the smug behind marveling.

Sick!

That's exactly what I hope to do inna tribute Mark Donohue Zerex Special Lola spyder w/Kinsler stacks on a NA LS7 with a lumpy cam.

Excellent job.
