We all appreciate the things you do for us here on your wonderful site, I know it is alot of work and you do not get enough credit!

I did use the words "shortsighted fool", but I did not use them as name calling. I looked up both words before I used them. I feel that they are a very good represenation of what Mark is calling for.

Definitions:

SHORTSIGHTED:
An action taken without thinking through the effects that action will have.

FOOL:
The quality of having poor judgement.

I am certain that when Mark said "Get the socialists out of industry PERIOD", not only was he rude in incorrectly using the word "Socialist", but its apparent that he did not give any thought to the negative effect that his statement would have on our economy. Thats why I went to the trouble to point out the tremendous loss and missed opportunity that would come from what he is calling for.

I do appreciate your trying to reign in the name calling, I have long hoped that you would comment when I was called amoung other things:

A Communits
A Socialist
A Natzi
A Fascist
A Turd in the punch bowl
A Stupid moron
A Certified idiot
A Scum bag
And yes a F**cking Fool

No one ever said a word when I was called those things, but I'm glad to see that you have chosen this point to put your foot down.

Jim, I don't read every message in every thread on this forum. Had you given me a heads up that someone was breaking the rules, I would have been there like a doberman on a steak.. Well, if I wasn't at work or sleeping my 4 hours a night like I do...


I'm not paid to be here. I'm here because this is a place I enjoy.
I don't enjoy political or religious banter so I typically stay out of those threads save a few peeks once in a while - again - when I have time.
I moderate here because I was asked if I was interested in the duty..
I do the best I can with the time I have.

Isn't it just a tad bit silly to be calling each other names on an internet forum when if you would ever meet the other party in person, you would undoubtedly give him a warm smile, firm handshake and buy him a beer?

I've been into computer bulletin boards since 1981 and Usenet as well after than. I've seen the entire spectrum of online forums, messaging and the like.
I will say that I have absolutely without a doubt NEVER seen or heard of two or more guys jousting on a forum about politics, religion, abortion, gun control or any other "rights" and actually changing the other guys mind...
How many times do you play the game before you realize your pumping quarters into it and you'll never win?

I do enjoy the way you justify everything you do and say as correct, while all others are wrong. It must be an excellent place you are in where anyone who disagrees with you on any subject is lacking in judgement. Or a fool!

Randy, Thanks for keeping an eye on us all, but don't let us belligerent 'fools' get you down. We are all grown-ups. If some can't take it, they should go play with their dollies instead. I don't mind being called a fool, or anything else for that matter.
