Garry I heartily and earnestly embrace your reply, however (there's always a however) I cannot in all conscience place blame entirely at liberal philisophy's feet in this as all parties of whatever hue are as much to blame for our current crises, and to be honest? We are as much to blame as anyone else.
We got our snouts in the trough and did not preach the kind of manners and good housekeeping to our young. You cannot 'live the life' in a don't do what I do, do what I say attitude and expect young minds to understand the difference.
Plainly, we did not practice what we preached and I am grateful, at least, that my 2 lovely daughters did not go down the tube as a result of my broken marriages and consumnate lack of interest in their futures.
What is the way back from all this? I believe the ability to stand up and say "It's partly my fault - what can I do to fix it" is the first step on the road to redemption as in all cases of degenerate addiction.
What we've got? "Bankers are wankers, it's the fucking liberals, the Conservatives got it wrong, the greed of multinational corporations" yada yada yada "It's not my fault, so I'm going to sit on my fat ass until someone sorts it out for me, better still, I think I'll go on strike until the bastards learn that I want the same standard of living I had ten years ago. That'll teach them."
If we wanted a Government to govern and do good things for us and turned our backs to make another dry martini, then it's our fault. We should have been keeping our politicians honest instead of jerking off in the jacuzzi...
Tell you what Garry. I adore a challenge, and failure I see as an opportunity. Oh that I would be fit and younger again so I could get stuck in.
I peaked too bloody early mate...
Remember that the secret of sucess is the capacity to survive failure.
