No clue about the platform for the new car. The business model looks like a variant of the Local Motors model, but more "one-off".

Sure does sound like it. They are affiliated with Rapier which is based on the SLC and without double checking, the dimensions sound SLC-like from memory. It would be interesting to see if anything comes of it. A while back a car designer updated the Ultima body that appeared to fit the original in critical fit points but looked like a new car. I don't think anything ever came of it though.
