Some shots of our track laps - all but the paddock shot taken by my Brother on my (basic digital) camera after his film ran out - leading into the "Bugatti car park"!

Dick,

I'll send you full size versions of the ones with your car in, as well as the ones from Stoneleigh, in due course.

Cheers,

Max

A very special THANK YOU not only goes out to Roy and all the others of the club who contributed so much to making this another unforgettable event but in particular to the
task force Roy gathered with a glimpse of his eye on Friday evening to help me with my (hmm, well...Roy´s) tent.

Again...THANK YOU!

Best,

Marcus

Glad to be of help Marcus, it was good to meet up. thanks for the kind words, without the help of the people mentioned in my earlier post the event would not have been such a success. Forgot to thank Dave Champ for interpreting and organising the bread at the local boulangerie.

thanks Max
do you know how john son is.is he back in the UK yet?, I have set him a PM but no reply yet
regards Dick

Dick (& all),

John sent me a message last night saying that they had medi-vaced out of France on Thursday night. Matthew is recovering well and may be out of hospital tomorrow (now today). He also thanked everyone for their assistance and kind words.

I know from what he said in France that he was going back abroad again, and guess he is already out there.

In the paddock area I noticed a very special GT40 recreation, viz. a 4-seater version. The steering was still in the original position, but apparently special seats were moulded on top of the fuel tanks in both sills. With the doors closed its seems quite claustrofobic though...

Has anyone heard if Dave made it back to Scotland?

I think he deserves a medal for the trip he made
Stirling to Portsmoth then across to Le Mans and return for the event - I would imagine ober 1200 miles return.

Dave - great meeting up and getting the 2 Daxes together

Hi John,
That's odd, when it left me it was a 3 seater!
Quick work!

Finally,
back online after very intermittent and minimal internet access due to faulty modem.
Want to add my thanks to the organisers for a most enjoyable weekend, it was great to see so many GT40s originals, fine replicas and see forum members and their cars in the flesh. The most amazing thing to me was the high proportion of Brits there, and the range of car ages and marques.
Ian, great to see you again, and the whole journey was great and trouble free apart from the rain on the way down. Since I split the journey over 3 days going down, and 2 days going back it was relaxing, and thanks to Malcolm and Wendy for putting us up (or is that putting up with us?) on the way down.

Hi Dave,
Just a quick thank you for your help, along with Dr John & Ian Stewart, to sort my fuel supply problem at the LMC.
When I got home I checked under the car and found that the fuel line from the RH tank looped up in the middle so that it was at the height of the tank tops!
This could not have helped the situation, as if an air lock somehow occurs then the fuel pumps are required to perform in their least efficient mode, sucking rather than pumping.
I have rectified this by lowering the fuel line to a low & level position across the car.
Thanks again.
BTW did i hear that someone, when asked how to sort the problem on that Friday, said "blow that!"?
Cheers
Paul

Paul,
it was a pleasure to meet you, and and a good team effort with Dr John and Ian. Credit has to go to Ian though for getting down and dirty with the fuel pipe while Dr John and I made heavy with suggestive sarcasm related to his blowing efforts if you see what I mean. Just part of what made the weekend great.
I'm sure that the loop in the fuel pipe had a lot to do with it, so sorting it seems the right way to go.

best regards
Dave

Dave,
Thanks for your few kind words, and Paul appreciated my efforts by way of a couple of beers.

Being a plumber by trade, I spend a lot of time blowing down pipes, sometime sucking so the effort of getting down and dirty was just routine for me.

I was just glad it worked. Can you imagine Paul's mood if it hadn't, especially with the track laps looming.

Glad you got home safely.

Regards
Ian

Cheers Ian,
beers were well deserved. Good point, Paul or indeed any of us would have been gutted to miss the track laps as a result of problems.

regards
Dave
