Lola info and notes

In July 1974 I was fortunate enough to purchase a MK3B spyder body advertised as from Dan Gurney's '67 CanAm chassis. I designed and built a tube chassis for the body. I had to cut out headlight holes to make it legal. It has been a garage queen since '84 as the left rear upright was damaged and the body needs rework.
Info- the rear lights are Lucas L551.
The hinges/pivots are spring loaded telescoping tubes, the ends of which fit into upper and lower holes in the sides.
The Derek Bell who was selling his coupe earlier this year is, by profesion, a rheologist. He obtained the coupe molds from GT Developments and then became associated with MDA. I purchased one of the early chassis coupes in 2005 which is still being assembled.
For those who don't wish to build their own body, check with TW Mouldings (Welcome to TWM). They have the molds for the Mark II sypder and both the early and later coupes as well as many other Lolas and a number of McLarens.
