Keith, I just read your post and you have my deepest sympathy. Some people just don't get it. This morning I was awoken at 0430 by a strange banging noise outside my apartment (been living in it since the flood) it turned out to be a bloke sweeping around the garden and banging a plastic bucket as he filled it with leaves. He became most offended when I suggested where he could put his bucket. Said he was just doing his job!
In Qld construction on any building site cannot start before 0700, without special permit and that normally entails getting the consent of neighbours.

Sometimes when I'm keen to get a project finished around the house, I would like to start really early. But out of consideration, I wait (as do my neighbours) until a more civilised hour, probably 9 or 10 oclock if it's the weekend and I want to chainsaw or hammer-drill. This is what community is all about, I think.

You read my mind mate and you're bang on. Yes, pushing for a Whitsun finish and launch so I can get away. Only have to fix the oxygen supply problem now (I currently have a liquid O2 tank in the house from which I fill my portable unit daily) and then I'll be orf! Can't wait.
Won't have to go mobile as I would be quite content to linger at the moorings and venture out when the weather is perfect and when I get some help. BTW the boat is but 6 miles away from Goodwood!
Of course, as is the nature of the Law of Sod, all of it depends on me being able to retain my car drivers licence on June 3rd and find some affordable insurance in July.

The big question about Keiths boat, before any ropes are cast off, is how much decent wine and champagne can be stored at 16c and 4c respectively. Along with Lox ( barrel smoked variety - not the breathing variety ) Cacacha, an icemaker and copious fresh limes then he is ready to sail. I will stock the fridge(s) with wooky hole and smoked cheddar and with a supply of liquid oxygen, he'll be as happy as a pig in china.
ps - I saw him wearing one of those hats with a built in umbrella

David is of course correct and I am investigating a powered cool chest that will drop temp 30 deg C below ambient and runs on propane, 12v or mains (all bases covered)
It's a long cry from the '70's when we trawled wine behind the boat in an effort to keep it at a drinkable temperature - not that wine in Britain was drinkable in that era whatever the temperature.
PS New Avatatar is my boat on it's sea trials 35 years ago in Poole Harbour

David is of course correct and I am investigating a powered cool chest that will drop temp 30 deg C below ambient and runs on propane, 12v or mains (all bases covered)

Try the soundtrack of an "adult" movie, set on "repeat" as soon as you're able to get out of the house. Maybe even set up a timer so that you can be seen to leave, then an hour or so later.....

It's kind of political but I am raging about the so-called 'social commentators' from all shades of the media who believe that the Royal Wedding snub to Blair & Brown is unwarranted.
All I can say is that they are grossly out of touch with the People of this country...
A pair of incompetant, lying, cheating bastards who have no place amongst decent company.
The organisers probably did a Risk Assessment and decided that the chances of them 'hoovering' the buffet into doggy bags and blagging rides home in the Royal Limo were probably very very high, to say nothing of the Silverware, after all, Brown got rid of all the Gold.

My rant is I am tired of hearing that Asians are not closet sexual deviants when they keep putting stuff like this out. I suppose that I should give a little background info. I used to work in the porn industry (LONG story and I was in editing) and all of my Asian friends (even today) used to argue with me about this all the time. Actually my buddy and I were busting each others chops just the other day about this very topic (calls me a lazy cheap JEW to my little pecker,squint eyed non driving mofo. Thing is he can drive circles around me.) Showed him the video and MANY MANY laughs were had from the both of us. Again I agree that this kind of stuff should really only be said between friends or people that understand the context because it can be taken out of context really easily.
