New Shelby Cobra

Hi all,

Ford just announced the New Shelby Cobra, to go with the New Mustang GT and the GT Supercar. The Cobra looks like it's lost the roundness that we're all used to but I'm anxious to learn more about it.

I watched many parts being fabricated for this car. A business associate owns the machine shop where some of the filming was done for the A&E special featuring the building of the car. Ford has a not so secret design center (an un-marked building) around the corner from me where the car was fabricated. In the A&E special, there was a GT40 in the background at the Ford shop.....was it an original car? If only they'd allow me to walk in and check it out; highly unlikely!!

I may be in the minority....but I kinda like it.
I've seen a lot worse...and 600 hp V-10 is neat.

There are those who think capitalizing on past glories
reflects a bankruptcy of fresh thinking.
I don't agree. If done well, it's still a good car.
If it's done badly, it's a bad car.

Of course styling is a very subjective thing, but
IMHO it's too early to pass judgement whether Cobra II
would make a good car or not.
