Randy,
The Plastidip people have cone out with some new stuff since any of the old threads. Here is how they get a gloss finish.

Also, be aware that if you want you can do a clear coat over it all to get a "shinier" finish. But you lose the pealability as the clear is hard. Needs to have the streech to peel.

Here is a primer on prepping the car for the Dip.

The Miata I did has the clearcoat. It does not affect the peelability.

That looks pretty neat Pete!

Sort of like a Kameleon paint?

Is there anyway to do stripes on a paint job like that? IE - Gulf Livery?

Randy,
It is actually not that hard. Excellent video on that. Search on Youtube for "iamthepuzzleman" "Plastidip racing stripes on a Prius".
This guy is a real hoot!! He outlines it very well. He saves the last coat for the wet layer and immediately pulls the tape while wet. There is a technique for the pulling of the tape. Think it is pulled at a tangent to the panel. Repairing any mistakes is not hard either unless you are trying for a pearl or metallic finish. He covers it all.

Not a fan of the skulls, but the effect of the heat sensitive paint sure is neat...
He put a LOT of paint on that valve cover!
