Plating suspension parts....

An option I am going with next week is a cad plating. I was sitting on the fence with powder coat, what pushed me off was a few parts I have would need to be taped off because the thickness of the powder coat would interfere. Have not decided yet whether "clear" cad or "black" cad, probably "clear".

On another note, someone mentioned to go with "steel blueing". I have no idea what it is but seems to be something the drag racers are doing to their suspension parts. Anybody know this process?

Tim -- if they're talking about the process typically done to guns, there's a good article on it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluing_(steel) It would look cool but requires some maintenance.

BTW, did you have a hard time finding a place to cad plate? And what are the prices like?
