Truck-engined SLC? Engine management?

Thanks for all of the information, everyone. I love the 180 degree headers on the LSx and now that I know engine management isn't terribly expensive, I'm much more open to some unique ideas.

VW Phaeton W16 anyone??? Haha

Oops! W16 is the Veyron. I meant the W12. Saw that the Phateon was one of the most depreciated cars of the past 10 years and now they sell for next to nothing.

The W12 engine would be an incredible power plant. Audi offered the W12 in the A8 model as well but the primary difference as I understand it is that the Audi W12 is an aluminum block where as the Phaeton W12 is the cast iron flavor.

With the Phaeton being the first (only?) Al VW car, it would seems quite odd to stick an iron lump in her. I'm not saying they didn't, but wow that is a "bean counter " for you if they did!

Here's a clip of the VK56 set up as a race engine in the Australian V8 Supercars.

I'm kinda partial to the LS considering the project I'm working on. A short sound-byte of the LS2 with a Stage II cam.

Sounds about right in a "vintage racer", but do see the point of it lacking the flat crank sound of many true exotics. BUT I think it has just about as much to do with cam timing, header design and muffler tech than anything in regards to quality. I have heard some pretty engines with poor mufflers sound like trash too.

For Alex's purpose: How about a Old Pro Stock flat crank BBC? At full song they'd sound killer, of course you'd have to modify whatever kit to long tail for an adequate muffler.

I just saw this and had to register. I have an SLC in the 5 year plan and I've made Warren of PPRE aware of the SLC's awesomeness, and how badly he needs to subsidize an engine build for me

They send a lot of engines off-shore so if you want to beat me to it...

Here's some more of their work for your aural pleasure (quad rotor this time):-

Make sure you add an additional 50 gallon fuel tank. I bet that think doesn't get 8mpg, and if you flow it, maybe 2.
