By the way, anyone else see pictures of wind turbines on my last 2 posts? Weird or what?

If you do see them, they are not put there by me but I suspect by a well know hot air producer.

If you don't see them, clearly I have been hacked.

I would venture to guess that (as many of us suspect), there is already more than enough funding in place across our respective industrialised countrys, to pay for all the research, man-power and infrastructure necessary to resolve most, if not all of our energy problems.

Audit governments and expose the criminally poor money management. These people have no idea how to make money and manage its use properly, irrespective of Nation.

Not to mention the billions and billions of profit that the energy companies make each year, could easily fund their generation developement! My company has to re-invest its profits when I wish to expeand or develope. Instead, they lobby governments to raise climate change taxes! Its all so obvious really, except that some people fall for all the BS as seen here!

The wind turbine generation per square of land used is nowhere near as efficient as generation plant per square foot. The birds killed by wind turbines vs transmission and power lines is a bit skewed due to the small amount wind turbines vs hundreds of thousands of miles of power lines and structures.

For the love of pete, will the world perleaze forget about wind turbines. We have known about wind power since the middle-ages. Even for grinding corn, it is inefficient. An ancient technology with no real modern-world application other than pleasure boating.

Like it or hate it, Nuclear is the only real alternative to fossile fuel generation. Unless everyone is willing to bin off the internet, mobile phones, 24hr street lighting, flood-lit office buildings and car parks etc etc.

I will listen to enviromentalists. Their views are important. BUT, (there always is one), they have to start to be realistic in what they wish for and are willing to accept as a consequence. (see Keith's post #21 above)

Back to the subject of this thread, of course it is ridiculous to force or subsidise
farmers to grow corn for power rather than food.
If the trillions of dollars wasted on the whole global warming farce went improving the life of those in need the world would be a much better place....

Of course wind farms are ugly as are coal burning power generation facilities and power transmission lines and both kill nearly as many birds as domestic cats.

The point is governments world wide are wasting the money they collect from their citizens on this futile and ill considered crap! Its your money not theirs and they are wasting it....As always.
Anyway after I buy the horse I'm going to become green, maybe I'll be invited to a nice seminar in the Maldives or Hawaii where I can sip Rum punch or Pina Colada's while discussing how we should grow corn to save the planet from the nasty carbon monster.:gossip:

"...the 400-foot wind turbines that are being constructed today cost $2 million. A turbine would have to last almost 50 years to pay for itself and then start creating a profit."
