"The car itself lost its bodywork but the main chassis only has light damage."

Interesting to see what someone calls "light damage."

Classic and Sportscar

The latest edition of Classic and Sportscar magazine carries an interview with Ray Bellm who won the Le Mans Classic in his GT40. He says Adrian Newey simply made a mistake under braking and passed his side window doing about 140mph at the start of the crash. Bellm, who raced at the 'real' Le Mans 10 times, said in a GT40 if you stand on the brakes at 170mph all four wheels lock easily and then you are just a passenger...

Bellm also says that in 1996 at Le Mans his McLaren F1 was pulling 193 mph at the end of the Mulsanne Straight, while his 40 year old GT40 pulls 187....!!!

Well I hope choosing chassis 1010 Essex Wire type for my build doesn't put me into the same fortunes as the other Essex cars - 1038 was my last hope as all others had either crashed or caught fire!

No omens please!!!

Shame indeed-

Chris
