    getting to the track

Mine's a 24 foot with a useless side escape door. It's just not a 40 kind of door, maybe a 50 kind of door. And I have to back mine in so the side door is on the wrong side. I use an electric winch. Way to go.

Hi, any body hit 200mph on the track,?

The Jag @ 4400 lbs. needs about 880hp to get to a 1:5 power to weight ratio.

Hi, any body hit 200mph on the track,?

Hi Samantha, I was held back to 160mph when I ran in the ECTA Land Speed Runs at Maxton AFB in North Carolina. My car is not caged hence the speed limit. The computer showed I was half throttle in first gear, halt throttle through half of second gear, then full throttle until I passed...

    Aerodynamic Data for GT40s

Hi everyone. Sorry I've been quite busy and Lynn was nice enough to let me know there was an aero discussion going on. Last winter I attached linear potentiometers to each corner of my suspension. Using a controlled power source and my LM-1 lambda gauge I gathered ride height data from zero...

    Land Speed Racing Record

Dan, Udaman! What is that track like? Maxton is a bit rough. Here's what I found: The Gauntlet Has Been Thrown Down in The Unlimited Street Class for Vehicles. 201.750 I need to go to Texas. A 2005 GT went 183 at Maxton but couldn't get 6th gear. I'm doing 160 before the half mile...

    Land Speed Racing Record

[ QUOTE ] Mark 0.6g is 0-60 in about 4.5 secs; that is not drag racing in my book but a lot slower than I would have thought a GT40 can do without smoking anything !. David [/ QUOTE ] Yes you're right it's not drag racing. It's a measured mile and you get terminal speed only. I was only...

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Goodyear F1 [/ QUOTE ] Size? [/ QUOTE ] Sizing was a pain for the Mk1 because no one makes the "right size" tires for it. Right now I have 285-40/ZR17 rear and 225-45/ZR17 front. I can sneak another inch or so in the rear with another inch offset to the inside...

    Land Speed Racing Record

[ QUOTE ] Mark From your comments it still looks as if your acceleration slips into the 0.6g category. Still quite modest for the car's capability ?. Regards David [/ QUOTE ] It's not a drag race. I was half pedal in first and a little soft in 2nd to keep it from spinning. Third & forth...

[ QUOTE ] I am also going to run my GT40 at the flats. I was wondering if you were running the ZF stock gears? I plan on getting the 6 speed next year but want to run the 5 speed first. Oliver [/ QUOTE ] I'm sitting here thinking 150 just short of the half mile I'll bet I can do 200 in the...
