Interesting to see that the standard Lotus box has a straight cut first gear from the factory.

Errrrm, wouldnt it be easier just to put the 'O' rings on the inside of the shafts, if its -13 box, the shafts are even machined for them. When you slide the CV adapters on the shaft, they seal up against the 'O' rings inside and stop the oil coming down the splines.

I noticed that too Terry. I would have removed the diagonal brace on the lower wishbone if the trailing arm is being used for suspension location. I guess if the joints are soft enough it wont matter too much but from an engineering view it dont look right! Last year saw a Trike with a Watts...

There is actually an 'O' ring that goes over the output shaft, on the inner end of the splines, that seals against the CV hub, check them as well.

Its not going in a Pantera, its going in an all aluminium replica of a BMW M1, with a Chevy on the front. Special bellhousing cast to do the deed as it were. I'll check the length though with the bellhousing etc and see how it looks.
