    V6 in sl-c???

I like the idea of the ecoboost but the added complexity and no weight savings means it will really just be a labor of love. A NA V8 will be a lot easier to build and I would wager lighter after you consider all the ancillary bit you need for a TT motor. I am hoping ford releases the 5.2 flat...

    SL-C powerplant possibility?

Has anyone thought of doing a build with the Ford Ecoboost V6? I was surprised how cheap they were compared to the coyote motors but obviously much more complex with the turbos and the weight is probably roughly the same. I am curious to see what the crate version of the flat plane crank motor...

Ford's new 5.2 flat plane crank in an SLC

I know they just announced this but I think I found the engine I will be putting in my SLC when I get around to building on in 5-7 years. Hopefully a crate version will be out by then. Anyone else have any plans for this motor?

    Rumbles SLC Build

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but thank you for the lengthy write up. In my e-mail exchanges with Eric I have pretty much come to the same conclusion. When Griffin released their prices I will be honest, I was a little shocked. I had to change my mindset on gearboxes, they are expensive...

    Subaru gearbox in SLC?

Ok, Fran just posted some pictures of F1 cars with crazy axle angles so maybe the outputs are not too low. I wonder if there are other problems with this transmission.

    Subaru gearbox in SLC?

Pint taken. Especially since the output shafts are above the input in the inverted G50. I assume this was taken into account in the design.

    Subaru gearbox in SLC?

Just wondering if this was ever considered? They are plentiful and you can get entire gearsets for less than what Albins charges for a Porsche FD. Some of the JDM gearset ratios don’t look too bad either, especially if taller final drives are available. They do look kind of long, and there is...

    Flat Plane Crank LS1

Those units from OZMO are nice. If I don't end up using a Coyote motor in my future SLC build I will probably get the dual plenum/single TB one. Cost is $4000 though.

    SLC Performance Figures

Yes sir, I did figure that :). I also read insufficient as inefficient....which is very true for internal combustion engines. Anyone want to put a turbine in an SLC?

    SLC Performance Figures

I completely agree with the above statement, especially considering weight and power. The Pratt & Whitney PT6 weighs less than the Lycoming IO540 and produces more than three times the shaft HP.

    SL-C powerplant possibility?

Oh I know it. In my anal retentiveness I have researched just about every engine option I could, big and small, cheap and expensive, and every time I do I end up at the LS3 (430hp) crate motor for the best all-around engine all things considered in terms of power, reliability, and ease of use.
