Great posts guys, really helpful! I think have read and understood everything but i thought i would post and ask what you all thought of this as a design for the headers on mk1 replica?
Also does anyone know anywhere i can buy 1 3/4 inch stainless steel tubing in pre bent sections...
Problem solved! Schoolboy error I'm afraid! I had a set of short mustang engine mounts on, now I've swapped to the tall ones everything fits. I have half an inch of clearance between the bellhousing and the frame now.
Thanks for that Andy
It's a tornado chassis with a Renault UN1 box and a cast bellhousing from Chris Cole. If someone has that combination of parts and they can answer that would be great but really I want to know how much deflection I should expect in the short mustang engine mounts because the last thing I want is...
Hi,
I have just fitted my gearbox and engine assembly in to the car and found that the bellhousing is touching the chassis before the tail of the gearbox is low enough to bolt to the mounting brackets. I know i will need to remove some material from the underside of the bellhousing to get the...
Hi Guy's*
Thanks for the info, I appreciate the benefit of your hard earned knowledge. I will swap to individual flanges and that may well make it cheaper too as the cutting program will be simpler.*
Tim, I did try and buy some direct from summit but I ended up with a flange for a single...
Hi,
I'm at the stage of making a header setup for my kit. I have been in touch with a fabricator to make a plate that follows the design of a standard 302/289 exhaust gasket. The plate will then be the base to which I start attaching the header tubes. I'm going for a stainless steel setup so...
Re: With the right Engine mounts, the motor fits!!!!!!!
What mounts did you end up using?
I have just come across the same problem. I bought a pair of Lakewood Muscle Motor Mounts p/n LAK-24094 from summit but they don't fit!
Thanks for the advice and offers to lend.
I'm going to get one for my own just because i intend to make the exhaust for the car so i'm going to put a bare block in first and mock everything up then take it out again rebuild the engine then put it back. At my current rate of progress that could...
Does anyone have a recommendation for a suitable engine crane to use with the a forty? I'm based in the UK so i have been looking at clarke cranes but i'm not sure home much a fully assembled cast iron small block weighs and therefore which one i need!
Cheers for the reply Brett,
I got the stuff from the states in the end. But from Welcome to RJay's Speed Shop & Performance Center! Good Prices & Good Service with a Smile! seemed bit cheaper than AFTERMARKET AIR CONDITIONING FOR AUTOMOBILES.
Chris
Does anyone know a good source for air-con hose fittings in the UK?
I am trying to find somewhere that sells male o-ring bulkhead fittings, i can find a few places in the states but nothing local.
p.s. apologies in advance if this post is in the wrong place but it seemed like the closest fit!
Glad to hear its safely tucked up in the garage tonight!
Sorry i couldn't be there to help.
Will you be out working on it at the crack of dawn tomorrow or have you got to go to work?
Chris
p.s. You said to remind you about the pictures of the starter, obviously no rush though!
Re: Shortened \'93 G50-05 5spd on eBay
Kalun_D, i thought the porsche starter was ok in this set up? I would appreciate any more info you have. I was considering this setup!
Cheers
