    tuning for economy

50mpg in a GT40??? How could that be?

    Fuel economy.

Ian fitting LPG is a REALLY GOOD Idea (More power than petrol). Just one question though -where about's on the GT40 can you fit the LPG bottles??? I would be really interested to know this because LPG is certainly a lot cheaper where I live too!!

    Just looking, but sorely tempted.

I've found a company in Australia that makes custom sized LPG tanks. I'm wanting to get a CAV GT40, but talk about difficulties in getting the sill sizes!! No one wants to give me the internal dimensions -can anyone help? Another option is putting a detachable tank over the battery (With a...

    Fuel Tank Sizing

I would be really interested in someone being able to give me the exact exterior size specifications for the fuel tanks for a CAV GT40. Also if someone can tell me how easy it is to take the tanks in and out that would be really helpful. Also how they are secured inside the sill -any pictures...

    LPG Powered Motors

Could you please send me a picture as to where you think the tanks could go? They have to lie flat because the filling stop system doesn't work unless they are flat (Automotive tanks). I think that a minimum of two 60 litre tanks would be needed.

    LPG Powered Motors

I've run LPG on a 318 V8 powered saloon car for years using an Impco carburetor system. Fitting the system to an 'old fashioned' cast iron V8 is pretty much trouble free - you need a dual fuel ignition unit for a dual fuel motor. There's not as much power on LPG because the motor needs to be...

    LPG Powered Motors

With the rapidly rising price of gasoline I think everyone would be looking for alternatives. In my country the price of automotive LPG has stayed static whilst the price of gasoline has sky rocketed. The price of gasoline is now about 60% more than LPG. (After adjusting for the calorific...

    Crash Safety

Having done a little more research into this issue it strikes me that there are some things that you can do to make your car a lot safer: 1. Install a heavy duty roll cage -it might be a nusiance getting in and out. But I rather suspect it could go a long way to prevent you 'submarining' under...

    Crash Safety

I know that this isn't a subject too popular with most drivers. But if you are on a public road you have to think about the impact resistance of a car. I know that there is a lot of data on speed and horsepower etc. But I was wondering if the various kit makers could give us an idea of how...

    Gas Mileage

I'm very impressed that you would be getting 30 mpg (Imperial Gallons) with a 427 cubic inch motor! Could you give a few details as to the setup? p.s. I'm more interested as with these sort of gas milages it becomes quite an affordable everyday ride when its not been pushed hard.

    Gas Mileage

Hi I was wanting to know what sort of gas mileage a GT40 powered by a 302 Ford Windsor fitted with fuel injection would do at a steady 60mph on the motorway? (Please advise if quoting US or Imperial gallons) and what sort of normal round town gas mileage would be obtained with just ordinary...
