    Toe String Alignment Ref Points

Redneck.... But I used to keep a pair of 3/8" Steel rods about 24" long in the tool box for one car I had to adjust the toe regularly on. I'd bungy cord them to the outside of the tire (through a wheel spoke), about 4" off the floor and level with the floor. Then run a tape measure under the...

    Improving the SLC gas tank

Ignore my proportions, this is based of guestimates of size. But you get the idea. I have a 'firewall' behind the tank. I'd use bulkhead fittings (as I do now) where the cutout is for pressure and return. I will modify the fuel tank 'cover' to clear the expanded plate on top that allows...

Restarting my SLC project in West Texas

I wonder if that has similar specs to the Gates blue stuff (also available in black). The Gates is rated for 300F and 250PSI. Safe for Methanol/Ethanol/Gas/Oil. We use it for fuel/oil/water. Works with push-loc fittings or hose barbs/clamps. Strongly agree. Buy the tool. Buy an...

    Improving the SLC gas tank

Why not drop a sump section with hydromat down between the 2x2 supports? I also have the radium surge tank. But I'd like to increase the tank size so am thinking about building a tank that uses all the side-to-side space and has the pressure pumps in the tank. Using hydromat in a sump and...

Restarting my SLC project in West Texas

I have a AC crimp kit you can borrow via UPS. Not sure how far "West" your West Texas is. I will be in Lubbock/Amarillo this summer racing and will be in Fort Stockton/Sanderson racing the last week of September.

    S2's Build Thread

I personally like the R versions better. But all 4 look fine to me. But, that’s a lot of air to get out from under the car. In our modeling we see a need to get as much as possible out. We are making brake duct fillers to be temporarily installed for high speed stuff where brakes are lightly...

slc air filter assembly race tail

The GM requirements are really best practice. But a decent tunner can adjust for reasonable changes. In any case, it’s best to have it dyno tuned once it’s a reasonably debugged runner.

    Wreaked and Burned SLC

About 8 years ago I had a house fire. Leveled the garage end of the house. Lost a C3 Vette (hot rod), BMW and Viper. Fire was hot enough it damaged the garage floor. I kept the motor/trans out of the Vette. My son pulled that motor out of storage last year. Replaced the melted valve...

    Wreaked and Burned SLC

I do and have used it in the SLC when the car was still burning after parked when a motor blew. We also have them in our Sprint cars. Have given enough time to get out of a car in flames.

New here, few questions about the SLC

Just my 2 cents here... don’t cheap out on these parts. I used a common Chinese relay/fuse box that was $20. Caused lots of pain and suffering. I am in the process of replacing with Hella parts. Big difference in quality!

New here, few questions about the SLC

The Graz is probably closer to 200 than 100. I've not put it on the scale, but I can only pickup one end or the other without doing in my back.

New here, few questions about the SLC

Kyle, I have an LS7 cam on the shelf I'd be happy to part with. PM me if interested.

New here, few questions about the SLC

Kyle, your trans selection is also a lot lighter than the Graz. Given the Graz weight is hanging off the back, I think you are in good shape.

    Mounting SLC Street Splitter?

I should add, I tried assembling w/o the space and it was a no-go. It needed the space for the nose to be at the right height.

    Mounting SLC Street Splitter?

Mine (5 years ago) came with a piece of WOOD in that place. I had opted to have RCR mount the body and make the various cut-outs. I swapped the wood for aluminum.

    Mason’s Build: Superlite SLC

I ran reservoir lines through holes with grommets. Snug fit. No extra fittings to mess with. It’s a PITA working in the footwell.

New here, few questions about the SLC

You will need to put the body in storage while you work on the chassis. Unless your garage is tall enough to hang it. I hung the spider and put the rest in storage even though I have a bigger garage. For some reason, my wife seems to think one car spot is hers. And I almost always have...

    SLC Model for CFD

The existing 3D models that I have seen are not easily usable for CFD. We are currently working on some options between the track splitter and the full wing style splitter. Here is what we are working off incase it's of any help to anyone. BTW, my son, Chris, is the CFD guy, so don't ask me...

    S2's Build Thread

Scott, Took my son to a kart race at 4. He was mesmerized. Ran his first race the weekend after turning 5. He’s now 20. Builds and drives his Sprint car, helps with my projects, has built 2 turbocharged Evoras, is studying Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis on aerodynamics and heads up...

Excellent job. Looks much better. Even if you were going with no interior, this looks much better.
