    Roaring Forties #80 Reborn!!!!

Ross, You analysis of the situation is spot on; I too have noticed that these cars seem to be cold blooded in the extreme. TYB has spend hours at idle and has never shown any indication of running hot. Being in Florida this tendency is not all a bad thing, on the other hand it does create the...

    Roaring Forties #80 Reborn!!!!

Sometimes determination and perseverance is the only way to achive your goal. 43 days have elapsed since my last post, I had thought that during that time I would have been driving and debugging The Yellow Bit*h (A term of endearment that I have named RF80.), unfortunately this has not been...

    EFI setup question???

Paul, Thanks for your response and no you have not muddied the water. As an update I spoke with Motec and came to understand the importance of the Crip. I was told how to get that setting by looking for the Ref Tooth with the motor at TDC. Since I am in a no start position with no pops and...

    EFI setup question???

When running the Motec system as setup for an RF using the Ford Cam Sensor, how do you install the sensor? Having put the motor at TDC on #1, how do you set the Cam Sensor? Do you drop in the sensor then set the Sync in the software or do you set the sensor at a special point in relation to TDC...

    Oil Pressure Help!!!!

Today is a very good day, I have oil pressure!!!!! Forget about Canton sending a rear sump pickup instead of the correct front sump. Forget about running all over trying to source the correct gasket for the Ford short water pump. All of those things pale in the excitment of having oil pressure...

    Oil Pressure Help!!!!

Howard, RF80 is a hard mistress that has shown me how dumb I can be every step of the way. Yes the Canton requires a special pickup, that part is now on it's way and should arrive Friday. We did try to fit the stock pickup that I got and quickly found out that it will not fit into the Canton...

    Oil Pressure Help!!!!

Mystery solved, no pickup equals no oil pressure!!!!! When I returned from Hawaii I had RF80 put on a lift at a friends shop. The intention was to drop the pan and inspect the oil pump but with the new lower engine position removing the pan requires lifting the motor slightly. To save some of...

    Oil Pressure Help!!!!

Gordon, Your comment is a good one, sometimes it's the obvious things that get missed but in this case, seven quarts of the stuff went in and one additional in the filter. I should also mention the quart that has ended up on the garage floor with all this messing around trying to prime the D**...

    Oil Pressure Help!!!!

I disconnected both lines at the remote filter and spun the pump, my thinking was that something should come out of one of the lines. The result was that both line remained empty with very little air movement from either one. I would thing that if the filter was connected wrong, then when it's...

    Bleeding the radiator system

HUW, If your question was ment for me, the coolant is introduced at a fitting that is part of the unit. The entire unit is mounted in the filler nect of the overflow tank, highest point in the system. I will post some info and pictures this afternoon. Peter
