Lynn, I think that was pretty good right out of the box because you don't know what to expect the first time. I think that by the third time your brain gets used to the color pattern which helps your time.

Good stuff Lynn, More cam manufactures are making these lifters to address this problem and like you said in the old days engine builders would modify the lifter bores in an attempt to get more oil on the lifter/cam.

A crank scraper or a windage tray in a motor with a cam that is designed to produce power in the 4,000 to 7,5000+rpm range will remove too much oil when the engine is operated at a low rpm range to supply sufficient splash oil to the roller bearings, that is why it is not a good idea to run...

One more thing to consider is at what rpm range you will be operating your engine at for the majority of time. If you go with a steel cam with roller lifters and roller rockers with high spring pressures the recomended rpm range will be 4,000 to 7,5000 or more. The important thing to consider...

Ron, I've had 3 Expeditions with 5.4 engines, so as to questions about the engine I can say that I was impressed with the towing power and reliability of this engine. As far as truck choices IMHO the Ford F150 is the best looking with the white with gold lower sill the best color choice, IMHO...

Ron, I agree... that is why I said that they can expect a few tenths better time in the 1/4mi. Because of the surface they run on they would have to get the launch just right to get the best posible time for that track and even with that they would get a few tenths handicap if you are comparing...
