    Cooling System Questions

Just to add my two bits to this discussion. I was watching "Le Mans" again for the nth time last night, there is a scene showing the bottom part of the Ferrari 512 as it's being taken out of their transporter. You will note the bottom of the oil pan, complete with cooling fins machined in...

Rob, really interested in this as I'm making my molds now for the doors and would like to try this out. Any pics of the internal mechanism or leads would be greatly appreciated. Off to the wrecking yard tomorrow for RX-7 mirrors! Rick

    P4 in Red

Jim, for those of us who couldn't make it down today, could you please post any pics of your open-house... I was planning on driving down last night from Ottawa but alas, I'm working this weekend. Hopefully once I get my '40 going, I'll meet up with you one of these days. There seems to be a...

    A most fortunate day...

[ QUOTE ] That seems to be what the majority of people have indicated to me, that the panels are derived from KVA. Therefore, unless I am wrong, to answer your other question, yes, it's from Ken Atwill's original reproduction off a Mark I. I have received a tremendous amount of interest on this...

No Ford GT in Canada, dammit!!

Actually I shouldn't be all that mad, it just makes my GT40 project a little more exclusive... Monsieur Earl has a right to smile when he gets his GT, please post pics once received. Rick

No Ford GT in Canada, dammit!!

Just got back from the local dealer in town, apparently, the dealers here in Canada have been told that the Federal Gov't wants to crash test two (2) cars and are insisting on bumpers (front and rear) and other totally unnecessary stuff to even qualify for certification. Geez, I guess they...

    A most fortunate day...

I don't mind considering that possibility in the future as it would be nice to have an available source located in North America, however, I'd like to see how the body panels come out first as I'm a firm believer in quality workmanship and I would not provide inferior parts if I can help it... I...

    A most fortunate day...

Thanks Bill, I'll take you up on that offer. First thing after the excitement dies down a bit is to categorize everything including making note of any spots to touch up prior to female mold fabrication. Have you heard of Chavant's Rayite MDM Model Duplicating Media before being used for female...

    A most fortunate day...

I really didn't have any plans per se in regards to producing body panels, my intention at this time is to just build the car from scratch with a monocoque tub. The first thing on the agenda is to start making female molds, followed by a trial body for fit and finish. I'll definitely keep...

    A most fortunate day...

Hi Simon, to answer your question, they are male body panels with flanges installed to produce female molds. A little cosmetic work here and there (in storage for a few years in a barn) but basically all the pieces required for a Mk I. Rick
