Here are the original (right) and replacement (left) senders. None of them were the float type.

RCR fuel level sending unit specs

Speedhut swapped my two senders out for no charge other than shipping, but I am not sure if they still keep them in stock. Seems RCR routinely sends the parts that are too long to fit the tanks. Several people have mentioned this issue.

RCR fuel level sending unit specs

This is the sender which is the correct length without needing to be cut. Speedhut told me not to cut the longer one that it would not read reliably.

I was wondering about that too. I say no way.

    Bryan's RCR40

Mainly I chose the Safir part because I was familiar and comfortable with the company. The shaft came pre-installed from RBT with nylon bushings and I did not disassemble it.

    Bryan's RCR40

It didn't take him long to add fuel, oil, and coolant, diagnose and replace a bad starter, and fire it up. He sent me this video in October.

    Bryan's RCR40

I sold my GT40 in September of 2021. I miss it. But what makes the situation much better is the buyer, who is a very friendly and capable guy as well as an amazing driver. He often updates me on the progress he's making and he's doing some excellent work. He agreed to let me share his...

    Seat Belts

I used Schroth Rallye Cross as they are street legal and simple. They mount by wrapping around the roll bar.

    ZF flipped for my RCR40

I installed my bellhousing to the engine first and then installed the transaxle. This can be done with your bellhousing. Those bottom two mounts aren't used with the RCR and on my car (Quaife bellhousing) they were very close to the chassis.

What is the approx cost of a new ZF transaxle?

I would be interested to know what they changed (if anything) on the transaxle as well as the bellhousing.

    Removing spider after windshield installed?

I did see a post here where someone successfully removed and replaced the spider with the windshield installed but unfortunately I can't find it.

    RCR40 Steering Column

Here is how I did mine. The photos don't include a 3/4" locking collar that I installed in front of the bearing so the rearmost shaft can't be pulled out of the female collapsible part.

    RCR40 Handbrake?

Mine worked fine on my RCR40. I tested it only once on a pretty steep incline.

    Quaife diff ratio choice

This might help. Comparison of 3.50 and 3.75 final drive QBE62G speeds in gears, shifting at 6250 rpm. Same wheels and tires. I chose the 3.75 although I never was able to get it and went with the RBT instead.
