    Geoff's Build Thread

Did your engineering books tell you its’s not DOT compliant? Did your engineering books tell you that the lines you made up yourself must be built by a company that is certified to make braided hoses for DOT use? If it’s a car you just plan to drive on a race track than have...

    Geoff's Build Thread

I thought you were plumbing the complete brake system in braided hose? Are my eyes deceiving me because it looks like copper/nickel.

How Magnetic Should Stainless Steel Be?

409 is a lower grade of stainless that will slightly rust on the surface. It’s used on a lot of OEM factory exhaust.

Good deal on a set of C7 front SKF X-Tracker hubs on Corvette forum currently. ($150 shipped for the pair) https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c7-parts-for-sale-wanted/4630733-skf-x-tracker-hubs-my-loss-your-gain.html

Did you contact Scott Swartz (S2’s Build Thread) on this forum about a Ricardo transaxle? He had 2 of them awhile back. I can ask him if you want. Let me know. He is a long standing member on this forum.

    WTB- GT-R fuel tank

Yes absolutely. Please tell me more. Please keep in mind that this is the centre mounted fuel tank in the Superlite GT-R and not the twin tanks as found in the GT40s.

    Joel’s SL-C Build Thread

Joel you might have a challenge trying to install that type of fill port due to the location of the intake tube right next to it. Here is the fill port with a built in pressure cap I’m planning on using. It’s from a 2015 CTS-V. It also can be installed into one of the hoses feeding the manifold...

    Joel’s SL-C Build Thread

Joel keep in mind that the fill cap needs to be at the highest point for proper bleeding of air. My finger is pointing to where the height of the fill port should be. Perhaps others could chime in as well.

Don’t forget to remove the cap from the fuel regulator vacuum fitting. It supposed to be left open if not vacuum referenced.;)

    Shift unit Graziano

Keep in mind that you can also use the shifter out of the Lamborghini Gallardo.

    Shift unit Graziano

I was looking for a used Graz shifter for about a year but ended up buying a new one from a online Audi dealer. They are extremely hard to find used. The best tip I could give is to watch EBay European sites to find one. They come up more often overseas. Fran at RCR also sells a Graz shifter of...

    WTB- GT-R fuel tank

Unfortunately Chris the Superlite GT-R only uses one tank centrally mounted between the seats. Thanks for the offer though.

    Ken's SLC build thread

Here is a new item that might interest future builders when designing their electrical system. To help save space you can get these battery post mount fuse holders. They are high current fuses that attach directly to the battery positive terminal. The picture shows the forged brass version with...

FS USA Unused SLC axle shafts

Interesting trades considered. Especially if related to a SLC or GT-R.

    Converting RHD SLC to LHD

Be careful with using loctite. It’s only designed for metal to metal contact. Using it on other substrates can actually weaken the threads. It eats plastic for example.

    Geoff's Build Thread

That is a true statement for the short jumper lines at the brake calipers, pedal assembly and clutch. Stainless braided teflon lined hoses are what we all use. All these hoses (except the clutch) must be certified (fmvss) for use on public roads in North America. You’ll never get that...

    Geoff's Build Thread

Looking forward to following along Geoff. I would definitely rethink the brake lines. Teflon lined hose the full length of the car would give you spongy brakes. I highly recommend copper/nickel brake tubing. Easy to flair and bend. Plus it will not corrode.
