    Columbus Ohio RCR40

Status update. Planning slowed down a lot. It was a busy summer with work and getting married lol. When I could I've been thinking more about the fuel system, electrical system, and most recently the engine lubrication system. Fuel system: A lot of smart people had some good input on the...

They told me this October when I ordered but I still have not heard from them... I was expecting a delay especially with supply chain nightmares but definitely hopeful to start this winter still...

RCR fuel level sending unit specs

This is definitely making sense now. I hadn't connected the dots that Centroid actually manufactures all of these and not speed hut. I appreciate everyone's help clearing this up... With this new info I was able to find the same instruction sheet online as pictured partially above which is...

RCR fuel level sending unit specs

ahhhhh that makes much more sense. Now I am back on track. I will reach out to RCR and see if the shorter ones will be supplied. Curious that the part number pulled up a different gauge all together... Thanks for the tips.

RCR fuel level sending unit specs

I couldn't come up with a spec sheet but that's okay. I can manually plot an output curve once I get the parts in. I think I am getting confused in all the different terms being used to describe fuel level sensors. I honestly thought the RCR kits come with a float-less fuel level sensor like...

RCR fuel level sending unit specs

Hey Chris thanks for getting back to me and for the info. I'm still hoping someone sees this with a RCR kit that can share a part # or the ohm readings for the RCR supplied specific sensor. I am going to use a standalone ECU so I need to program it to properly interpret the resistance output.

RCR fuel level sending unit specs

Hey everyone... Spent some time this evening trying to nail down the exact fuel level sending unit that is supplied with the RCR kits. Recent build threads show what I believe to be a capacitive style "rod" sending unit that can be trimmed to length. Can anyone please confirm? If so, is there a...

    Columbus Ohio RCR40

Agreed. currently my front runner. In my mind nothing is wrong with letting a return line from the surge tank connect to whichever tank is being drawn from. I plan to just have the return line port connect at the very top of the surge tank so it is only used when needed.

I share your concern with the return line. I really want to avoid worrying about overfilling a tank as you pointed out. Still thinking about an exact solution... I agree a float switch will do it, good idea. Do you have a part # for the 044 pumps? The bosch pumps I am finding are twice as...

    Columbus Ohio RCR40

I've spent the past few weeks finishing up the plan for the fuel system. It is still not complete, but I have narrowed things down to 4 decent choices, all with their own sets of pros and cons... I just need to decide on one and move on. Currently my favorite plan is #1, but it is pretty...

Fuel tank and pump setup with return style regulator.

Hey Sean, Thanks for sharing the info. I like your check valve concept. Also happy to hear that these pumps can hold up to momentary dry starts when not gravity fed... certainly a concern of mine. One question... How do you plan to handle your fuel return? You'd need to make sure the overflow...

    17" wheel road racing tires

Yea that makes sense. That would explain why most tire manufacturers are recommending no smaller than 10.5" wide wheels for 315 tires. Maybe I'll push the 275 to 295...

Fuel tank and pump setup with return style regulator.

Hey Ian, Fantastic information. Cant thank you enough. I hadn't considered running a single pump to suck through the selector valve and eliminate the third pump... definitely something to consider. Also I share your consideration of heat in fuel... it may be an issue... I think a solenoid...

Fuel tank and pump setup with return style regulator.

Thanks for sharing! I've been reading about these valves. Seems like this could be another good option. Thanks for the tip! Also good point about burning out the transfer pump if the tank runs dry.... and about overfilling due to a manual switch. I should be more honest with myself that I could...

    17" wheel road racing tires

Hey Everyone! Looking for some tips on a good road racing tire for my 17" BRMs. for the fronts its easy... having trouble with the rear. Currently I have picked out some Toyo R1Rs that are 275 wide. The rear wheels are 10" wide. My car will have 2" flares, so I think I can fit 315s. Trouble is...

Fuel tank and pump setup with return style regulator.

Hey Bob, you mentioned you previously used the same setup and had float control valves to turn on the transfer pumps as needed to keep the surge tank happy. Do you have details on the switched used? And why did you change up your system just out of curiosity?

Fuel tank and pump setup with return style regulator.

Hey Sean! Wanting to join in on this fuel discussion.... I am working out my fuel system for my RCR right now as well and stumbled on this recent post as well as your posting in the Fuel technical forum... (the car shows up this fall hopefully) I was considering the exact same solution you...
