    Tinted Lexan Windows - Please?

I'd be down for a set of mid-level tint.

    Air Conditioning Effectiveness

After ~3 years the tint on my driver's side is so bubbled I'm about to take it off. The passenger side isn't as bad; the driver's side was exposed to sun more than the passenger. The difference tint makes is noticeable. I'm tempted to try it again with the tint being applied to the OUTSIDE -...

Kurt H (hoffkm) SL-C build thread

I love to see all the carbon projects, if I can carve out some more time I’ve got a few more ideas I’d like to try out. These projects are never finished but I’ll admit once the car is driving it’s a tough trade between enjoying the car and working on it! Looking good!

Feedback I’ve gotten is cutting too much in this area makes the door less stiff and may lead to cracking. If you do remove that triangle take a look at adding reinforcement. Practically, you don’t need to look through that portion of the door and if you put tint on your windows it’s almost...

    Converting RHD SLC to LHD

The larger diameter rotors go in the rear. I’ve heard that some folks with the CF5V wheel option need to run spacers in the front to avoid rubbing on the caliper.

    Nose hinge

I've tried - not sure when they'll be available for order for past builders. It's been a few months since I last contacted RCR, however.

Bad ass Kurt, good luck! I think I went low tech and taped my GoPro to the dash for my inaugural run. Nothing beats that feeling of moving the car under its own power for the first time!

    Converting RHD SLC to LHD

The rear glass vents let out a tremendous amount of heat. After a hard drive, idling the engine, I can’t keep my hand above the louvre openings for very long due to the amount of heat coming through. In motion the engine gets a good amount of airflow (if you don’t close the bottom out).

    Dusty's SLC Build

Dusty - I used that same crimping tool for my AC hoses. Take my advice - don’t pay attention to the marks and compress your fittings until the tool bottoms. I first went up to, and only up to, the mark - every single fitting leaked. I then went 1/16”-1/8” past the mark - I recently found one...

    Converting RHD SLC to LHD

It’s a plastic housing, you can push it up against the underside of your dash area and secure it as it is, the housing will deform enough to accommodate. Try it on a flat sheet of aluminum and see if it’s flush enough for what you need. I wouldn’t recommend cutting the housing as you suggest...

Rich - I tried to minimize the amount of fiberglass I removed to keep as much stiffness as possible. I used fasteners to install everything as I figured I would want to remove the back at some future date - came in handy when I re-dipped the car. I have photos and a description of what I did...

    CamT's build thread

The weather's starting to get chilly out in this part of the country and I felt the need to make a few changes. On a recent trip to the gas station I spilled gasoline on my dip and didn't have any paper towels nearby - the dip took a bit of a beating as standard plastidip isn't fuel resistant...

I made this video specially for Rob ;) I’m trying to capture some better audio with my cheap $20 mic; seems to record fine with my GoPro but when I try to jack it into my iPhone the phone freaks out and records garbage. A slight upgrade to my prior setup which was simply taping an old iPhone...

Restarting my SLC project in West Texas

Definitely agree with you Howard, a few - wish I’d known that scenarios for sure. If I were a better driver perhaps that subtlety would be important, but I’m way too much of a gorilla to have that level of detail impact my driving (in)ability. In all the driving I’ve done so far I’ve never had...

I've been having fun hitting the local err.... canyons in Mexico ... and convinced a few friends to come out. Also picked up some new camera gear and trying to put together some more interesting videos. I'm lacking sorely in the creativity and editing departments but here's a couple recent...

Restarting my SLC project in West Texas

I dunno Howard - I have my steering wheel and seat aligned in my SLC. Frankly it was a bit weird at first but it didn’t take long for me to get used to it. The surprising thing is just how misaligned OEM cars are. Every car I drive now, I can tell the wheel is off, and I’ve become accustomed...

Looking good AJ! Teething issues are part of the game so you've gotta muscle through and get to the other side. What are you running for ride height? I generally don't have too many problems at 4.5"F/5.0"R but I'll engage the front lift part-way when I know I'm coming to some type of severe...
