Dan - I probably have the newer gen shifter, it’s been sitting on my shelf collecting dust. You’re welcome to have it for the price of shipping if you want to give it a shot. Let me know if you need any dimensions.
I’m sure there’s at least one or two SLCs in Arizona but if you’re not having any luck and find yourself out near San Diego you’re welcome to swing by and see mine.
In standard form the brake can accommodate just a smidge over 1”, a 1.25” rotor would require a spacer. Seems simple enough - a couple of spacers and longer bolts to join the 2 halves.
I have their older style switch and have been working on putting my setup together but got sidelined due to the holidays. Working on some brackets now. Jon has been great to work with, definitely contact him if you have any questions about the system. I'll try and work with him to get some...
IIRC you’re running some super wide rear tires which I think tends toward an under steering condition? - so interested to hear that you felt there was oversteer on left handers. Under steady input during skid pad testing did the car feel neutral, under or over?
I haven’t yet driven my car at...
Winner winner chicken dinner! That didn't take long ...
My harnesses have a bunch of extra length on the part that wraps around the harness bar. I've been using zip ties to keep things tidy but really didn't like the look. I figured this would be a neat project for getting my feet wet with...
I finally have gotten around to picking up a 3D printer - I wish I’d done this before I started the SLC project! It would have made for an easier going and given me more options during the build phase, oh well.
My daughter and I were strolling around in a Target and she saw some dollhouse...
Yours is an earlier frame but I'm assuming all the critical information such as arm lengths and pickup points are identical.
Post 14 of my blog goes over my initial alignment and chassis setup, lots of details in there along with measurement numbers if you want them for comparison...
Probably variation due to the production method. One of my handles cleared easily and the other had a very slight interference. I hit it with my dremel and a sanding drum and it clears without risk of breaking through the door skin.
It’s probably got a decent amount of life left in it. The spring only exerts a few ounces of tension when it’s at max deflection. You can get replacement plastic bushings at autozone.
I know of an SLC builder in Orange County. PM me your info and I'll pass it on, I'm not sure if he's into having visitors but I'll check. I'm in San Diego which is a bit of a drive from Long Beach but if you're ever in the area let me know and I can show you my SLC. I just randomly came...
Confession time: I never resolved my locking door handles issue. I had tried to replicate Bill's (Rumbles) handle modification to get locking exterior door handles but I could never get it quite right. I couldn't make them work reliably and decided to forego locking door handles because I...
I have a ton of potholes, dips, steep drives, and speed bumps in my area. I'm running the street splitter along with a 4.5" front ride height.
Here’s a couple of photos I just posted showing the Ramlift system:
