    CamT's build thread

I'm using a Mighty Mouse catch can. I hooked it up as per David Childress from Mighty Mouse. But I refuse to disclose the top secret hose routing he had me use on my LS3.

UGH I have counterfeit FP. Cam, Why didn't you just install a factory Bosch pump? ( Thanks for saving me from getting towed!)

    SLC Body Fitment

OK.......I think I got this. Install the body over the pan, make sure the windshield fits, don't let anybody know if I replace any original components, have someone else prep the body work and have MAACO or Earl Scheib plastic dip the car. Whew I'm beat

    SLC Body Fitment

The other factor of the windshield fitment is the fact that a fiberglass body no matter of design or quality is flexible and during it being off the chassis it may slightly deform. I personally and quite a few other builders on this forum have built a simple wooden storage buck to support it...

    SLC Body Fitment

Howard your advice will be very useful. I understand the importance of fitting the windshield first. You and Dan make me feel better if that’s how I will need to fit the body on top of the pan.

    SLC Body Fitment

I'm at the point where body fitment and alignment is important to finish installing the remaining equipment for my Go Kart stage. BUT it is very tight to get the rocker panels under the aluminum lower body pan. I know pan/body/skirt is the recommended sequence. The car is an early (C of O #...

Fuel pump inertia cut off switch

Ian I was planning to put it within drivers reach. How easy would it be to trip as an anti theft device?

Fuel pump inertia cut off switch

Neil you sparked a memory of my only personal experience with a ford inertia switch. In 1987 I worked in the Mercedes/ SAAB service dept of a Ford, Lincoln,Mercury, Mercedes and SAAB dealership. Needing a commuter car I purchased a brand new 1987 and one half Ford Escort GT. It was a new design...

Fuel pump inertia cut off switch

Will, because I'm using two pumps through the master cell that would require two inertia switches with relays on the hot side at the pumps. The inertia switches are rated for only 10 amps. Since they are such a simply design I believe to use them to interrupt the ground side will be ok. Just to...

    Joining the Family

Brings back fond memories. I redid an Impala SS back in the day. It was stolen and then life kids and a house remodel got in the way. The SLC is my first real car build since then ( did a lot of bikes but that’s not the same).

Fuel pump inertia cut off switch

Fuel pumps have a nasty habit of failing at the wrong times. Helps with diag/ repair. I’m running high and low pressure pumps. Ken that was the one I was looking at. Thanks for your confirmation.

Fuel pump inertia cut off switch

I'm at the point of doing some wiring and would like to run this by you guys. I will be using two separate switches on the dash to turn the fuel pumps on (grounding the infinity mastercell with the switches). In order to incorporate an inertia cut off I thought I could use it as the chassis...

Congratulation! I am finding my build process has been totally rewarding and I hope yours goes as well. One word of advice, It seems you put the rear mounted engine from the GTO in the front. This is not advisable with the SLC. LOL
