    Audi 016 Strengthened

Well I dont think it could hurt things. The excess flange sticking out i doubt adds any real strength to it. Maybe a nice tight box Mitch and this plate would help. I think Hersh shucked out his 016 two years ago in this way doing a burnout on a drag strip.

    windshield fit

Thanks Mike and Howard for your very informative post. Your info helps lay a path for us RF builders to properly prepare the area before the expert can come out to your house and install the glass or by ourselves. I don't think a professional is going to want to build up low areas with filler...

Although I'm working on another area right now, on my car, I placed the windshield on the spider last night. I have about a 3mm gap at the upper l/h corner under the windshield. and then in the center about 5 mm at the top and 3mm at the bottom. If i place a wood stick in the car and "prop" up...

    windshield fit

This is the reason why we really need a better manual when building these cars. From Hershals recent post that its normal to route out the area from the coolant tank to this . These things would help new and current builders avoid many headaches and lots of wasted time trying to figure out if...

    windshield fit

Hi Jim, very sorry to hear that. The one thing comes to mind is if you flex it down a half inch, then someone gets in or out and pulls down on the corner of the roof, you already used up some of your flex "cushion" before it may crack the windshield.Let us know what path or cure you have, as...

    Storing the body

Well I think it kinda goes the way bermuda grass grows,,,LOL It spreads where you dont want it to and wont where you need it .Here is my experience. My car was shipped in a big brown shipping container and was held up in port about 2 months in Long Beach .They had record temps that spring there...

Is there a headliner used in RF-40 turnkey cars?

Hi AL, if you dont know this already , the inner roof panels have a "pebbled grain" finish to them. Also RF then paints them in a gloss black. Some folks have sanded the pebble grain surface look off them, like I think Hersh has. Others paint a lower gloss . Hope this helps, If you need a pic of...

    Roaring Forties #091

And the rear 3/4 as it sits. The "D" panels are not shot on , nor the tops of the area above ther rear tanks. The door handles / latches are fit and have to get the aft part welded up to size before I shoot the rest on. The under side fuel plumbing is 95 % done on both sides as well.
