Pictures if my newly finished BEC GT40

I love your driveway and the view as you drive away. It could be distracting. Oh, I like the GT40 too.

    Webers the right way!

John, actually, I did not remove any of the stock springs. It was just that it was so soft at the pedal that I felt it needed additional tension. So, this works great and also serves as a good safety in addition to the MSD rev limiter. I plan to change to rod linkage eventually but I just...

    Webers the right way!

Finally, after a few snags and stupid things like loose heater hose clamps and loose fuel line fittings, finally buttoned up and test drove her. I'd say at least 15 HP more and more grunt in the low end. I have to work on the timing yet.

    Webers the right way!

Install Update Removal of the old induction system and installation of the Weber setup was pretty straightforward. We used 2 sets of gaskets as Ian suggested, to get better port matching. The complete setup looks awesome complete with the anti-reversion plates; but alas, the rear window glass...

    Newby question

There is usually room behind the seats for a thin jacket or a purse. At least in my CAV GT40 there is. Sometimes, I even drape mine over the seatback.

car on trailer cover or not

Lloyd, I trailered my car on an open trailer to the NYDMV inspection station which was 15 or more miles away. No cover. Just take it slow. And, good luck!

CAV's on Chapmans Peak Rd, Cape Town

Cool video. My 13 year old even liked the music: ) I think they sped up the car sequences in post production. I saw another clip with more of the car sequences and they were going a lot slower; filmed using a R/C helicopter controlled from a following SUV. Nice effect, though.

    CAV - Part VI - Entries #21 & 22

Bob, very nice work. You've inspired me to take a welding course at our county vocational school. May I ask what holds the vent plates to the body? Nice and clean without screws...

    Hartwell Latches Part Numbers

Gregg, funny, I just had a meatball sub for lunch and still have acid reflux from it. Hey, what kinda NewYoker are ya, can't appreciate the sarcasm, eh? Er, my wife wants to move out of New York because of demanding, pushy bastids like me. : ) When I parked next to 1058 at Captree, I swore...

    New A-Arm Kit

The wheel sits smack in the middle of the wheel well, and after setting alignment to 0 toe front, 1/16 toe in rear, -.5 camber all around, +4.5 castor front, +2 deg. castor rear, she rides really nice and linear. We're putting her on the scales next to set corner weights. The adjustability...

    New A-Arm Kit

After installing CAV Canada (Ian's) lower arms kit, and machining the shock spacer/spring perch to 1/2", this is how she currently sits at the lowest setting. Still about 1.5" high for me. Shock's already sitting on the rubber bump stops.

    Webers the right way!

Thanks Russ, No argument from me. I'm with you in that regard. I guess the farthest one would go would be the fuel injection rail that kinda "looks like" a Weber stack line but offer the reliability and modern technology of fuel injection. Not my cup of tea, however, and too much money. I...

    Webers the right way!

I just want to comment quickly that throughout all this, Ian has been very careful to touch base with me with what he was doing. True, what started as a simple "...hook me up with a vacuum source, please?" project turned out to be a major undertaking; nontheless, I'm very pleased with the...

    New Lower Reverse A Arms

[ QUOTE ] Hey Ray, You see that thick spacer between the coil spring and the two flat height adjuster nuts? Put that spacer in a lathe and cut it back to a half inch thick, leaving the inner ridge that the spring centers on of course. That'll buy you an inch at least:) [/ QUOTE ] I thought...
