    Vacuum pumps.

I'm interested in the UP28 vacuum pump, but the Bandit sounds good too. Any update on the measurements of the min and max vacuum levels? How many amps does it draw at max? How much airborne and chassis-transmitted noise? I have a small block Ford bored and stroked to 363 with a high...

    Miami Active Power Build

George, your heat shielding looks great. Glad you could do it before paint. Give some consideration to the vertical walls that are close to the headers too. I guess you saw my solution. Bob Woods Tornado GT40 in Texas

    Tornado GT40 in Texas

Rear View Camera I did what I thought was a very clever and well researched project on the rear view camera. There were several discussions starting on page 10 at post 192. https://www.gt40s.com/threads/tornado-gt40-in-texas.42186/page-10. There were several follow-up discussions such as 207...

Randy, Thanks for that update. That is why I posted on this subject. You really need to think about heat before you finish the rear deck and paint it. Thanks for the photo. Of course the main problem is closer to the cutout for the "carbs" since that is where the hotter headers are.

Randy, Thanks for the compliments. Yes, it was a big trial and error process. I used framing matt board and trimmed several times before I transferred it to the aluminum. I too bought a sheet of stainless steel for that purpose. However, I think the aluminum will reflect the radiant heat...

Heat Shielding I had two heat problems with the car. First, the exhaust was too close to the fuel lines. On two occasions, upon driving home, I couldn’t use more than a touch of throttle without the engine dying. I think the hot exhaust was heating the fuel supply and return lines and was...

    License Plate Solutions

Cameron, You can see what I did on post 90 and 99 of page 5 of my build log "Tornado GT40 in Texas". See link below. This puts the plate about 1/2" up into the body work. The Texas plate must be larger than Randy's since even with my insert into the body, Randy's and mine look about the...

    Hello from Orange County, CA

Randy, it's a big trade off. The cars look better low, but I have already scrapped my front end going from a parking lot to the street with a 5" ride height. My main concern is how in the world could I have it loaded on a tow truck... in either direction. -Bob Woods Tornado GT40 in Texas

    New gt40 orders

Well, I think we should take a poll on how many people are still active in their build. I for one have been very active; however, I have such limited time that I choose to work on the car instead of working on the computer. I have documented every step and I will start posting when I get the...

    Fuel Map

Mitchell, For someone to help you, we need a lot of information: Is the engine a 302 or 347? What is the static flow and pressure of the injectors? What throttles are you using and what is their size? What fuel pump are you using and does it have enough flow? Based upon your cams, etc...

    Front Sway Bar Brackets

Steve, After seeing the new photos, you have enough lever arm on the ARB to make it work properly. Boy, the first photos were deceptive. If you put the chassis mounts in the location that you are showing now, I think you will have the best solution you can have with that ARB and you could...

    Front Sway Bar Brackets

Steve, I'm sorry, but I have two concerns for your anti roll bar in the front. First, I don't think you have anywhere near enough length between the ARB mount and where the bar is mounted on the lower A-arm. It appears to be less than 2 inches of an effective lever arm. I don't think that...

Mike, Sorry for the double post previously... I put the rear window on and it is curved just enough to clear the #8 air filter with a 1/4" to spare. I'm glad I ordered the 35 mm bellmouths. -Bob Woods

    GT40 kit completed the most

Luc, I would just say that you should be sure that your supplier can provide every single part required to finish the car. With a rolling chassis, most of your problems are resolved, but if you are going to build, you need to be able to get everything from a single supplier. Parts from a...
