    Not all Mclarens are yellow

Glad you guys liked it as much as I did. If it wasn't so many pages I'd print it out to add to my library. Might do it anyway LOL.

    Not all Mclarens are yellow

Found this outstanding article on an M1 Mclaren. Thought you other fans of Bruce's might find it interesting. http://www.impeccableinc.com/mediafiles/inventory_records/1_Hollywood_Sports_Cars_McLaren_20-09_History_as_Known_October_11_2012_for_Web.pdf

    Making Brackets?

I have a larger version of the 28" & really what has been said about weight of materials is true. You'd be surprised at how much cutting you can do with one of those 4 1/2" grinders with a cutting blade. I used a combination disc & belt sander quite a bit. As well as the band saw & drill press...

    A rare opportunity

Thanks Grahm yes those were some of my concerns as well. But it looks like I may not have to decide this time. I think the guy already sold it LOL Oh well back to my Lotus. Really should get it done first anyway.

    A rare opportunity

Russell like I said it's a package deal. A monocoque tub with the body & a windshield. If I was doing one from scratch I'd go the space frame route. The tub is an exact copy looks just like the one that Marcus has been working on for the last couple of years. I'm just not sure about using a mono...

    A rare opportunity

Gentlemen & others (you know who you are LOL) I have the opportunity to purchase a spot on reproduction tub & body for a T70 3B. My concern is I want to build a street car. I'd like some advise from those more knowledgeable on such things than I. Is a mono tub actually a good choice as a street...

KVA GTD (C) 351W in bits in the shed

The way the rear suspension pick up points are just kind of hung out there. Behind the rear bulkhead looks pretty weak. Looks like they made the chassis too short & just had to tack them on behind. Just my 2 cents worth but I'd sure be looking at that.

    My Lotus build

Ian they're a whole lot wider than any street 13" I could find. That's one reason I went up to 15 X 8 wheels LOL Made a whole lot more work for my self keeping them under the body LOL I hate just fender flares they always look "tacked on" to me. I want this to look like it came from the factory...

    the Steinard MK3 takes shape

I'm not sure about Can-Am but for FIA (Le Mans etc) I think they had to have a spare tire too. It was when the "powers that be" started making rules & manipulating things. That a lot of builders lost interest like Chaporal. Said it just wasn't fun anymore.

Thanks Jack I figured you might be lurking out there LOL Ian it's not much fun to carry on a single sided conversation. Comments let the poster know it's not. We all like to talk about our cars/projects.

    My Lotus build

Ian: it was J. E. Developments. I'd talked to them & got a shipping quote. But when I said I wanted to order one. They said "it'll be a couple of days & I'll invoice you". I emailed them about a week later & got the same reply. So I got tired of that & ordered one from here in the States (in...

    My Lotus build

Rod they are of my own design. I took the stock hub/bearing carriers. Turned them upside down & had pieces I cut to it. I'm thinking now of having new ones cast. I'd made casting masters for a friends race car he was building. He wanted his front brakes on the back side of the uprights. Seems to...
