    FLyinJ's NY Build Thread

If you don't use a tank, you'll have the same problem as the old Ramlift product, which is that it takes several (like 7-9) seconds to extend fully. With the Staceparts unit, and a 1-gallon tank, my SLC was able to lift up fully in about 1-2 seconds- a big improvement. The new setup also...

What is going on at RCR?

What did Fran say? I'm sure if the parts were on the shelf, they'd ship them. If not, they are in the queue to be made. But it's also likely that there are many production parts scheduled ahead of you.

Hi Ian, I did reply to your message, but I don't think you got it. In any case, if it's for private, non-commercial use, I don't have an issue either! Good luck with your build!

    ANY SLC'c around Asheville NC?

That's my (old) car. But I sold it, and now it's in Kentucky. There is another builder in Asheville, but his car isn't finished, and I haven't been able to contact him recently. DM me if you have questions.

    SLC 24 Howard Jones

The axles being shipped now (and for some time) are made of 300M, which is what DSS will tell you to use, in case others are wondering about their cars.

    Joel’s SL-C Build Thread

In thinking more about this, it doesn't really matter what I think. If you still want to use these in a 4-point configuration, call Schroth and explain the situation and see if you can get a written approval. If so, that would settle the issue. If not, well, that would settle it for me, anyway!

    Joel’s SL-C Build Thread

When I was acquiring the harness for my SLC, I found a document that Schroth published that showed a list of cars for which their 4-point harness were approved. It was a relatively small list, and of course the SLC wasn't on it. I can't find it now, but perhaps their "ASM" technology has made...

    Joel’s SL-C Build Thread

The Schroth 4-point system is approved only for a specific range of cars- and the SLC is not one of them. Putting their 4-point system in an SLC would be against their advice, and against good safety sense, because as Neil mentions, there is a great risk of submarining when used on seats with...

possibly the sickest engine/tran package for an SLC ??

"The standard-output I6 weighs 430 pounds, Stellantis engineers told us; the high-output adds just another 11. Fully dressed 5.7-liter V8s are in the 550-560-pound ballpark, and 6.4-liters close in on 600 pounds. " And a fully-dressed LS7 weighs about 430 lbs, per Katech. It's only the chubby...

Convex Mirror Glass for Hippo Mirrors

You use a glass cutter. It leaves rough edges, of course, so you grind the edges smooth on a belt sander.

Convex Mirror Glass for Hippo Mirrors

Just saw this. I used convex mirrors from a Chrysler Minivan. Laying the OEM mirror over the minivan one (that I bought at Advance Auto, IIRC), I found where I wanted to cut out the new mirror based on the curvature of the minivan mirror. I then cut it, and trimmed to have a smooth edge. Both...

Looking for nice pictures of garages

I am remiss in not showing some pictures of my old garage. I've moved, so much of it is in storage now, awaiting a new home. As it was recently:

    Sl-C or a finished car?

An R8, or any "normal" mid-engined car really isn't a competitor for an SLC, IMO. If all you want is good or very good performance in a mid-engined car, the best value is always in a production car. I like to think that most people build a car like the SLC because it represents a way to be very...

    Access to configuration page

The configurator is back up, after a long rebuild caused by complete destruction from overseas hackers. But it's back with some new options, and new defenses against the same kind of destruction. Please let me know if you see bugs or problems. It's early on, and we know of some bugs we are...

    Ken's SLC build thread

Here's how I did mine. Foam carved to shape, later followed by a couple of layers of Kevlar/CF fabric. If you use wood to cover the entire lower part it destroys the aero designed into the splitter.
