    Caution in and around London

Hi Chris, That is precisely the entry showing for BOTH of my cars. If you try again I suspect you will also get a 37.9mph in a 30 for camera 193 on A1303 Cambridge, also 14 January. Returns the same if you input your reg number as "a". That's why I wondered if it was a technical problem or...

    Caution in and around London

Hi David, Was intrigued by the 'just over the limit' part of your post so thought I'd just check for my own and my partner's cars. Curious thing is that both cars are logged as having clocked identical excess speeds at identical locations and on the same date. Needless to say neither car was...

    Superformance Ford GT MkII

[ QUOTE ] The superformance coupe was shown on uk tv last night (5th gear). Quoted as costing 65k GBP, which as you say Ron is probably equivalent to 65k USD [/ QUOTE ] John, I think the price they quoted for the Daytona Coupe was 85k GBP. If so, quite an increase on the 63k USD quoted by...

    Trimming light covers

Hi Simon, Acrylic is easy to drill but also easy to crack - especially if the holes are close to an edge. I'd suggest you grind the drill bit to give it a zero or negative rake - ie instead of the flutes having a positive spiral and therefore a tendancy to 'screw' into the job - the flute is...

    Bolts and washers ?

Chris, Interesting websites. Did you notice the Barrett Engineering Consultants' comments in Part Two on the LACK of locking capabilities of both non-serrated Bellevilles and of normal helical 'lock' washers? http://www.tcnj.edu/~rgraham/barrett/manual1-B.html Jim

    Bolts and washers ?

Murray, It's a shallow cone shape which exerts a force when deformed to flat under the tightened nut. Can be used as a back to back stack for greater force. Readily available in the UK. Jim

    Main Index - lookup limit

Hi Folks, Following a week away from forum access, in the 'Main Index' I've just tried to 'View recent messages' for 'Past 7 days'. It returns me only the most recent 200 postings, which cover only the last 3 days, and I assume that this is a result of a 200 post lookup limit. Can any of you...

    Stroking a 302

Hi All, My 302 is in pieces following a damaged piston and one of my rebuild options is to have it stroked. From the postings on the subject a couple of years ago, it appeared that the pro stroking concensus was to limit the capacity to around 330ci to avoid wrist pin/piston ring interference...

    Windscreens

Hi Roy, I sourced a Tornado windscreen for my GTD last year. The fit is not ideal - it required rather too much sealant to fill the mis-match in curvature. Therefore, I would suggest that your GTD windscreen will probably suffer similar problems on a Tornado. Regards. Jim

    Subscriptions/Donations Enabled

Hi Ron, Subscription button now working fine. Thanks. Given the huge amount of benefit that even lurkers such as myself derive from the forum, I must say that the level of donations invited seems very modest. I hope you will raise sufficient funds. Your efforts are greatly appreciated. Best...

    Rear deck plexiglass

Rob, To add a little to Paul Bearman's comments, Makrolon and Lexan are trade names for polycarbonate which should give you a service temperature of around 120 deg C, compared with around 80 deg C for Plexiglas acrylic. Both are available with a 'hardcoat' surface which would reduce abrasion...
